  • Today i went onto the Ravaya Furniture website and they have a message
to whom it may concern 'Ravaya Furniture has now gone into liquidation'. I am so angry! Does this mean that i will never get my monet back or my funriture. nnatt76 what happened when you went their this weekend. Maybe we should all get together and go pay them a visit.

I will also report them to trading standards because it seems to me that they have been messing people about for a while now.

If you have any advice on what can be done i would appreciate it. Unfortunatley i paid through their website with my debit card so i don't think there's much i can do.

There's little point in pursuing an employee, shareholder or officer of a limited company about a debt - a limited company is it's own legal entity.

Whilst it is true that the company's director(s) could be held liable for losses if they were proved to be trading illegally, you would be better off informing and letting the appropriate authorities handle such matter (e.g. Consumer Direct would be the people to contact who will probably pass it onto Trading Standards)

By the way, if you look at the company's registered address on google maps, you'll see its not exactly a business address ;) but then again the company did say it held no stock at that address.

You may also be interested to note that according to companies house, the company is not currently listed as being in liquidation (no matter what the company's own website may now imply). Companies House are usually quite quick to update their online database with any official information received, typically within 1 working day.

  • I was also stupid enough to part with my cash via debit card the day before the liquidation notice on the website. I have informed Amazon of their need to remove them from their site.

You're right they are not registered as a dissolved company on the companies house website. However, an eye-opener, is that although I bought from Ravaya (a non-limited company) the payment was taken by Interscope Imports (limited company). According to the response I got from consumerdirect.gov.uk my contract is with the person who took the payment not who I ordered from.

They will ctc trading standards and the OFT, but no consulation for the loss of my money to a rotten cheat!
