TWO problems!!!!!

1. I sold a phone on eBay which sold first elsewhere (LOOT customer came and collected) from my house, I was not in and had absolutly no time to cancel nor did my sister. I come home and see the item was sold for around the same price.
What should I do now? I contacted the buyer who seems very nice and said sorry item is sold (I did mention that item is being advertised elswhere and I reserve the right to cancel), I also offered the same make phone who my friend is selling to the buyer at a cut down price. I hope she accepts that offer or gets to mutally agree to cancel everything. I made a stupid mistake of not cancelling!

2. I bought a dining table of a furniture shop on eBay, I have paid for it on 1st June (£460 in total), we have been trying to contact them for days and no answer. They started a NPB dispute!!!! I explained the situation and said maybe it's not up on your database, I got the bill this morning as well. I paid via credit card.

The 1st situation is more of a problem than the second! Please give me advice......

Thanks,

All you can hope for is that the winning bidder on the phone auction will let you walk away from the problem unscathed. If he wants to play by the rules he can put in a non performing seller complaint and neg you and it will look very nasty on your account. There is nothing else you can do. If you try and sell in 2 places at once you are bound to have problems. I would also strongly cuation against trying to recover your FVFs by going for a mutual, as you may find the buyer is un coperative, it i sprobably better to just write off the fees (and they will be quite high) rather than antagonise the buyer.

Re did you pay via paypal using your credit card or direct to the merchant by card?

I paid direct to the merchant. Well it wasnt me it was my sister whod one this with her credit card. The customer service people said delivery would be a week later on Friday which is tomorow, but why on earth have they filed a NPB dispute?

    Thanks Soolin!

My concern moe is that there is a slight possibility there is a problem here, did your sister get an official invoice or complete check out to get the telephone number to which she made the payment? If so then it should be fine, if she followed a link in the listing or responded to another email she may well have paid to someone else.

The first thing to do is to respond formally to the NPB, state clearly (ask on here if you want a good wording) that payment was made by telephone on xx date by credit card. If there is a scam going on then the person who put in the NPB dispute can at least see your response even if his emails are being diverted.

Alternatively phone the seller and see if you can't sort it out that way.

It's probably fine but I am just a bit concerned that your mails are not reaching the seller. Has the seller been selling lots of furniture recently and have they always sold this type of item?

It's Ravaya Furniture, they have been selling the same tables for a while with a few thousand feedback I think it was. On the credit card bill it says Ravaya furniture, Chelmford. I odn't think anyone else has got the money as I got their number from their listing.

Lets hope it's just a communicational problem rather than a scam!

    Thanks Soolin!

It does rather sound more like an administration problem them Moe so all should be well. DOn't forget though to respond formally to the NPB dispute.

Surely a call to Ravaya Furniture will sort this problem out. I doubt it is a scam if they have feedback rating of a few thousand.

They got just over 1200+ feedback. That's their address and phone number, I used that to call them, feel better now, got a little concerned there!

I'll let you know what happens.

    Thanks for the help.

One more thing. They have the worst customer service team ever! They havnt ONCE picked up the phone today, we have been trying to contact them since Monday. They keep saying they will call back, very rude, ofcourse we will call them to see what's going on because they have OUR money and we havnt got the table yet!
