I found a recipe for a cake on t’internet – which has turned out fine, milder than a malt loaf and not as sticky – I may reduce the milk & sugar and add some syrup next time. Also trying out some choc & 0valtine brownies which are cooking as I type and they smell dee - licious :j.
Wondered if anybody had any other recipe ideas for it?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Anne_Marie, the brownies I made were delish - but I really like the idea of macaroons and pancakes, I'm also going to try using it instead of cocoa powder but reducing the sugar as already sweetened.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

I love Marmite, well actually yeast extract from whatever shop, as it's cheaper. Being a vegetarian, I add to French onion soup, (and a good glug of red wine) which requires beef stock. It's good in minestrone soup...I know that's usually ham stock, but with the yeast extract instead, it's really tasty.
Really you could add it to anything where you would use a beef stock cube, such as mince, stews. Err on the side of caution at first and just put in 1/4- 1/2 teaspoon. You can always add more if required.
During the mad cow debacle, I think it was the beef oxo cubes which were changed to yeast extract cubes.
A thin scraping on bread, cheese on top and melted under the grill is scrummy too. (Forgot to say, toast other side of the bread first).0 -
Just found some other recipes for Marmite....check out the pudding!

In Nigella's cookbook "Kitchen" she has a recipe for "marmite spaghetti" which is just marmite, butter and spaghetti. Haven't tried it, but it sounds like the ultimate comfort food.0 -
What can I do with a spaghetti squash?
I would prefer to have it like a roasted veg but apparently it doesn't cook that way?
Plus there is an apple tree with thousands of apples opposite. I have frozen as many as I can fit into the freezer for crumble etc - anything else?
Plus any good tomato soup recipes? Plus any good ideas for tomatoes that haven't ripened much? My garden is going nuts...
...and lastely, A$da included an 85% bar of chocolate in my order by accident. Any ideas other than brownies/rocky road?
Thanks!0 -
I have oodles of green tomatoes, too, and I don't think they're going to ripen in the next week or two. I'm thinking of trying Nigel Slater's mixed tomato chutney (search Nigel Slater green tomato recipes and you'll find it)
Some instructions on a nice little site call katheats.om on cooking spaghetti squash. Let me know how you get on, as I've never tried it but I think I've just bought some seeds to try growing it next year.
85% chocolate??? Eat it!0 -
