I sometimes use soup packets in my water when I'm making rice. You could do a stir-fry with rice, dried mushrooms, raisins, dried fruit, etc. Or make a chutney with the dried fruit! I'll be honest, I've never had a custard. I'm not even sure what it is :embarasse:
As for the chocolate - send it to me in Canada if you need a home for it

I think that all of those things will keep for ages, so what you havn't used you can move with everything else and give you a good start in your new home. Best of luck.0

Hi Monster  - you and I seem to be in the same position
!
I've also got a huge collection in my store cupboard and will be moving, in my case from a house to a flat, in a couple of weeks - my problem is that I haven't got a time schedule......................... no idea if it will be BEFORE or AFTER Christmas.
I'm not too worried about dried goods - they don't weigh too heavy ........... but the tins are a totally different matter . I've also got the added problem of an over-stocked freezer and freezer section of the f/f. Managed to use up a pack of pork fillet, a bottle of Budweiser Cooking Sauce, some frozen broccoli, some carrots from fridge drawer and a few pots from the 'spud bag'. I foresee some strange meal combinations in the next few weeks :rotfl:.
Also used up some 'over-bought' tomatoes, red peppers, one of many tins of tomatoes, 2 onions from fridge drawer, some lentils and some ground chilli/garlic. Rather delicious version of Red Pepper and Tomato Soup  - I'll insist on it being used up within the next two days to prevent having to put it into the freezer when I'm trying to make space in there lol.
Just wondering if I can add the remaining sauce from the Pork meal to the soup - or would it spoil it :undecided.0 -
Yup !! started working on my freezer last month as soon as we got our address, Im thinking some lentil and tomato soups may be in order as well to whittle stuff down.
Ive just found out that we are going to be living 5 min walk from aldi so i shouldn't be storing as much food as ive has to in the past.
I think we should compere our strange combo teas lol0 -
Try https://www.supercook.com - you enter the ingredients you have available, it suggest a few more you might have forgotten that you had, and it comes up with a list of things you can make with those ingredients.
I only discovered it earlier today. Now slightly obsessed . . .0 -

Hello, i'm not sure this is the right place to post but i'll give it a go. Currently my situation is this... i have £7.31 in my account and i'm looking for some inspiration for food/recipes that will stretch until the 18th.
I currently have in my fridge/freezer/cupboard...
Fridge-
1/2 tub of leek and potato soup
1 pack of ham
1 pack of dairylea
1/2 pint of milk
1 small sausage roll
Freezer-
3 frozen cheese and onion crisp bakes
4 fish and sauce bags
1 pack of potato shapes
1/2 pack of chicken goujons
Cupboard-
Tomato/chili chutney
Tinned ham
Weetabix
Sugar
4 bread rolls
Belvita biscuits
Tortilla chips
2 tins of tuna
Cup-a-soups
As you can see i don't have a lot i can make full meals out of! Any suggestions on how to stretch my food and money further would be great. I'm a long time lurker and love reading everything old style xx0
