The only thing I use poppy seeds for is for sprinkling on top of HM bread and rolls. I've used them to sprinkle onto cheese straws when I've been using up some leftover pastry!

Poppy seeds are lovely in lemon cake - standard sponge recipe flavoured with proper lemon zest or with lemon essence and add a couple of tbsps of poppy seeds.

    Hey folks,

I'm a bit behind on updating my cupboard and freezer contents.

I shall make a point of putting 10 minutes aside tonight and provide a list.

Thanks for the suggestion re: the poppy seeds - I think I'll have a go at the lemon cake (though may vary it to make some lemon and poppy seed muffins to take to work for lunches).

That's quite a good list to work from, inthedeep. Have you already got a mealplan that you could incorporate any of those into? :) Taking a few items from your list, a tuna pasta bake is leaping out at me - might add that to my own mealplan :D

OK Poppy seeds and some quinoa. I bought the quinoa for lunches but couldn't eat the last time I made it as it was tasteless even with the flavourings I added.

You could fry some veg, mushrooms, courgette, red onions, or just get a tray Mediterranean veg that you put in the oven and fry that up, then add the cooked quinoa.

What would you suggest adding to the tuna pasta bake? I love cooking but I've never cooked a pasta bake lol.

I also have frozen vege too,
