I was hoping to do quite a lot of baking this week but will not be able to make cakes now but will do flapjacks and shortbread instead - Oooooh I haven't made shortbread in years! Yummmy - I also have some pastry left (the weird rising pastry lol) so might attempt jam tarts with that tomorrow... after Ihave tried to find out why on earth it rose - and no it wasn't sr flour, it was just Plain Flour and Trex (2-1 ratio) and a wee bit of water to combine.

How is everyone else doing? Hope nobody has sneaked out today for top up shopping :p

I've been to the shops twice since New years eve, as I've had the flu - a great way to buy & eat a whole lot less! But I also inventoried my freezer!
We've got loads of stuff for main meals, but sadly not feeling up to much cooking at the moment. Eating more of the stuff we would normally have at lunchtimes like soups, couscous, noodles and sandwiches etc.
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.
  • Day 2 down, and it's going really well! Just made some falafel from dried chickpeas we have had for a while, which we'll have with some salad and a wrap. All of which we already had in :-) I'm seriously considering doing a no-supermarket week once a month, as not only am I saving money, we're also using up all the hoarded away food in the cupboards! Clearly a win-win situation :j

Know how you feel - I had flu since Christmas Eve too and only just getting appetite back - did wonders for my weight and my bank balance as too ill to get out of bed, never mind visit the shops but it is a drastic remedy that I wouldn't recommend or wish on anyone.
