got 2 boys skint_catt, my 12 year old helps more than my 16 year old
Hey, boys need to be able to cook as much as girls. Your future DILs will thank you for it - and so may your sons one day. My son didn't want to have to cook a meal once a week but he thanked me for it when he went to uni. (I lie, he didn't thank me but he did laugh at his housemates who didn't know how to cook anything).0 -
My darling fiance has had to cook since he was 13 when his mother died - he loves cooking and I love him cooking too
They should help with everything especially as you have CF (not necessarily because).

I would definately get my kids involved in the prep, it is an important life skill to realise that food just doesn't appear and that if you cook from scratch it is cheaper and there is more money for Xbox games! mine are 12 and 16 too and my 16 year old is a great baker and my 12 year old just made casserole and yorkshire puds for tea. Ben eats though, doesn't he! so he can help make it!
They can defo help you peel, although jacket potatoes and new pots are good!! I really would get teh kids involved, but do live in the real world, could your Dh help prepare the meal the previous evening, store potatoes under water adn veg is fine not - although they do lose some vitamins from slicing, but better than prepacked. This indexed link is good and there is a couple of threads for muffins http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=8736367#post87363670 -
