Its not really a meal idea... More of a snacky thing...
Small crackers, or oatcake, with philly cheese.. the plain variety, topped with a little chilli dipping sauce.
But it is very nice"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Used up quite a bit here today, 1/2 bag pumpkin in the freezer, some pasta (dregs of 2 bags, one of fuselli and one linguine), sunflower seeds, pancetta, cheese and onion = pasta bake. Used up a bit more pudding rice too = rice pudding.
I've now got some room in my storecupboard at last ! Mind you, tis a short month and I've got to pay for holiday at end of January so no stocking up until at least February - probably a good job really as they could all do with a wipe over/freezers defrosting etc etc.
Have some brie leftover here too, probably end up having it with plain 'ol crackers :jWeight loss to date 1st 11.5lb :j0 -

but I won't be making a full inventory until I can go outside without needing wellies, 7 layers, hat and gloves
Today I've used the turkey carcase to make stock. This will be made into minestrone soup tomorrow.
I've also used a packet of prawns, some Thai curry paste and half a can of coconut milk to make a curry for supper.

Pen thats what Im wearing inside pretty much! I am in the hardcore I think as we have no central heating, just 3 portable rads that are pretty lame- its warmer in the freezer than sitting around LOL
dinner tonight is entirely stores - quorn chilli & rice ( poss jackets) as i need to use the potatoes up and they need less attention. thus meaning we have to spend less time in there. Current temp in the house is vvv cold- its going to be -3 tonight and I think its probably about there now!:eek::eek::eek::beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? My oh says I'm loving the fact that it's snowing as it challenges me too use up stuff, but the fridge is looking sad and so is the freezer but I have tomorrows meals planned - I'm doing cottage pie with brussels & spring greens. Dinner will be something light - but I need to make some buns (put them in oven with pie) so Saturday we can have them with spicy lentil soup.
I going to make gammon and spicy sweet potato wedges at some point.
Used up loads as asda couldn't make our delivery and haven't been out as broke my toe so can't shop as it's a hill up to local co-op, but it's on the mend0 -

We are on for -12! You know it is cold when the cat sleeps on the modem! Our LA are nearly out of grit and only covering 25% of roads now, too. Still less pollution!!! (insert every cloud smiley!)0 -
Can anyone help:
I was hoping to make a choc bread & butter pudding with:
Milk ( Im using powdered made up)
Butter
A HM fruit loaf that sunk
Hm chocolate sauce
Cadburys buttons
sugar/ cinnamon/dry druit/sultanas/
I have in addition:
one egg
large pot of creme fraiche needs to be used.
Most recipes seem to call for 2 eggs and I only have one- do you think mixing the creme fraiche with the one egg and some choc sauce would be ok? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

lynzpower - it depends on what you mean by "be ok"! It'll be slightly different. It'll probably be a bit runnier with only one egg, but it depends on whether you like it like that. Give it a go and report back - that's how recipes evolve! If we are supposed to be thin, why does chocolate exist?0
