Sponge mix on top of the tins of peaches (well take them out first LOL) with custard. That's as far as I got....I like pudding :)
Edited - maybe the mushroom soup would make a casserole with the chicken & bits of veg ?

mushroom soup is really nice mixed in rice or even cous cous (rice is better!) i've even mixed it in mashed potato before.

really easy casserole is mix a tin of cream of mushroom (or cream of chicken) in with cooked rice, some peas and some tuna or chicken (i use the stringy bits picked off the carcass after i boil it up for stock) and if you like you can top it off with a bit of cheese, very tasty

Might not seem that bad, but I live on my own so it seems a LOT to me written down! I have a few ideas and am going to work on a mealplan tomorrow, but more ideas would be really helpful :)
I know there is no fresh fruit or veg listed as at the moment I don't have any, but will be popping into town tomorrow for some bits.

I started well tonight as had fishcakes (freezer) with some roasted veg and potatoes (sprouting!)
I have also made some satay sauce with some lurking peanuts and some chicken is marinating in that overnight for dinner tomorrow (and Thursday). For a first attempt I must say, it tastes delicious! Can't wait until tomorrow. That will be served with noodles (or maybe rice).

One problem I seem to have is using up ingredients, but ending up making more food. Like tonight I used some potatoes, 2 small peppers and a courgette and roasted them, which has made loads, so now I have to think of something to do with that (bubble and squeak maybe). I don't have much freezer space, so freezing isn't an option at the moment.

freakogre- one thing you can do with your roasted pepper/potato/courgette leftovers is put them in a small non stick saucepan, heat them through for a moment and stir in a broken egg and a little grated cheese. This makes a very tasty frittata and can be eaten on toast, or served with a green salad.
Also, if you live on your own and are trying to stretch the pennies, don't buy bagged salad leaves. Whole lettuces will last ages if you regularly shave off the end of the root until some fresh white stalk shows and revive them by soaking the whole thing in cold water for a couple of hours. Wilting cheapo end-of-market day lettuces can also be revived by this method.

Can I ask for some help pretty please? I've got a couple of things I'm stuck with

I have some old old cornflakes in an airtight box that I don't know what to do with and I don't fancy eating as cereal - any ideas other than chocolate cornflake buns which is the only thing I came up with!

And I have quite a few massive oranges, can eat a couple as fruit but what to do with the other 8? (I made a load of marmalade in Jan so don't really want to do this)

    Many thanks

with the cornflakes they are nice if you crush them and mix with a bit of cheese and use to top things like casseroles. you could also crush them up and mix with soup, make a lentil pate and use crushed cornflakes instead of bread (i used stale cream crackers when i made mine since i was out of bread and it was fine)

also i created something i call dog's breakfast, normally i add in some stale biscuits but you could add in some of the cornflakes

    DOG'S BREAKFAST

FIRST put about a cup of milk into a glass baking dish (i use one around the size of an A4 sheet of paper (inside) if you want to make more of this you can also add in another 1/2 to full cup water and a splash of oil with no real difference in flavour

2ND toss in some dried fruit and let it soak in the milk/water whilst working on the rest of the recipe

3RD chop up any fruit you have that is a bit past its 'eating as it is' stage. shrinkly plums (as my daughter calls them) apples that have the odd spot, spotty bananas etc are all great for this. toss this in the mix

4TH add in any biscuit crumbs and crush up any stale biscuits you have to toss into the mix (you can skip this and add more oats instead if you like)

5TH add in some porridge oats, it should be enough to make it a somewhat thicken but not too thick, it shouldn't be soupy though (guestimate i use around a cup of oats give or take a bit depending on the amount of liquid i used)

6TH add in about 1/4c sugar (you can use a bit more if your fruit is sour but the dried fruit is sweet and does most of the sweetening for you) alternatively you can add golden syrup or honey too

7TH sprinkle in some spices, i use mixed spice but cinnamon, nutmeg etc would be nice on their own too

8TH pop into the oven at 190C for about 20-25minutes, it should be a medium golden brown when it'd done

it's a bit gummy, not too much though and if you don't like it gummy you can cook it a tad longer. this is soooo tasty, even people that don't like porridge have told me they like this and it's so good for using stuff up.

you can make cookies and muffins and replace 1/3rd of the grain (flour normally) with crushed cornflakes. as well, or try making cornbread and replace the cornmeal/polenta with cornflakes whirred around in your blender or food processor until they are more like a flour!
