  • Evening all
Just been out for tea with all my kids, between them they gave me chocolates, a book, The Lost Symbol, a fantastic new purse & some softgrip kitchen stuff to help with my poor hands. Hubby also asked my DD to get me some flower & perfume from him. DIL to be rang all the way from the middle of the Sahara to wish my happy b'day.
Hugs to PP, Cranky & George & everyone else who needs one.
    Have a good evening
    Hugs Hester

  • Hi Chums
Condolences PP and <hugs> to others who are feeling down today.
Weather is nastry outside at the moment and I'm glad I'm snug at home.Normally I would be at DDs for dinner at this time but two of the boys have got a sicky bug and I never go anywhere that I could pick up a bug from if I can help it as my immune system is low still after the chemo so I play safe.
One of my DGS is trying for his Duke of Edinburgh award at school, and managed to get three months voluntary work at a local book charity. We had a dreadful job getting him it as ordinary local charity shops wouldn't let him volunteer unless he was 16 (he's 14 next month)Luckily there is a tiny shop attached to our local book shop that is collecting for the local church roof and they were happy to let him come along and help out for a couple of hours on a Saturday starting next week.So Ben is a happy bunny ths week-end.
He is a good lad, and is willing to do anything to help anyone.
Yesterday I had my sis-in-law to lunch and we had the brisket that I had SCooked. It was delicious and there was enough left over to portion up after I had whizzed it up in my food mixer and topped with mashed potato's.5 individual cottage pies in the freezer .I have just put a big pile of lamb bones that I bought in Morrisons a couple of weeks ago for 50p into the SC to render down for stock.
We went to the outlet centre at Chatham yesterday, and I bought several Christmas presents and now checking my list I only have 6 Christmas and three birthday gifts to buy.I am hoping to get all the present shopping done by this week-end ,then I won't have to battle round the shops at the last minute.
Found some lavender essential oil in the cupboard and dabbed it on the radiators this morning and my house smells lovely.DD came for coffee and 'borrowed' the bottle to have a go in her house .Last I see of that I think :) oh well I don't mind as I had forgotten that I had it.
Right time to get the kettle on
have a good evening chums, and stay warm

    have a good evening
  • Thank you to all for your lovely warm welcome. I would have thanked more posts but my thanks button only seems to work now and then!

Penny Pincher - sorry to read about your bad news :(

Somehow the day has passed me by and I haven't done half of what I wanted to. I have managed the ironing (and even better, have put it all away - I hate that bit!), done my school planning for tomorrow, done loads of washing, cleaned the kitchen and sorted out some of the clutter in our bedroom.

I also found time to play with DS2 and DD and to visit my sister and her week old baby which was nice.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their evening.
