Morning all,
Wet and windy here, but looks like it might brighten up later. Oh has gone to the boot sale, so peaceful at the moment.
DD's friend texted her at the last moment yesterday to say that her mum had changed her mind and that she could not sleep over , this is twice she has done that, no thought for us at all, and the fact that i bought extra food, it will get eaten, but it makes me cross, she seems to have no thoughts for other people at all, she (the mum) had a new fella in her life and seems besotted with him, and everything else goes by the wayside
and the poor girl will probably have crisps for her dinner again,.......................................... and breathe ....
We have to go up to my sisters later as I need to get her OH to witness some papers re the new house, it has to be a non relative, the man we are buying from has offered us his huge American fridge freezer for £50 :Tand is leaving all the downstairs curtains blinds and rods, and all rods upstairs, I am thrilled to bits, one thing less to worry about.
Dinner today will be a happy chook, with roasties cauli cheese, and maybe sprouts, and OH picked up a reduced to a £1 cheesecake yesterday :T
Mummysaver, hope you are ok hun xx
Have good days all, have fun.
Haribo :rotfl::rotfl:at your dh going out for coal and coming back with a kitty, I dare you to send him out for wood today
Edited to say, hugs for Purpleivy, you seem to be having a tough time at the moment xx0 -

Good morning,
I hope everyone is doing ok and have a peaceful sunday. I took out DS2 for his birthday bits and ended up paying a fortune but I guess its all useful stuff as he chose clothes and pair of trainers and he is really pleased. Im about to get dressed and head out to get some food as we are running low. I have DS3 primed and ready to go with me. I need to get my kids organised to dust and tidy their bedrooms and have a general sort out later so we start the week in an organised manner. It really helps!!!!
I have caught up on washing but ironing basket is groaning. Tumbler is mended thanks to kids dad. He has also mended my computer and the washing machine this week so only parts to pay for which he sources locally. Im very lucky that he is so competent as regards meding things and he really seems to enjoy it. Im determined to get back to cooking more myself this week as I have lost track but really am only getting back to "normal" after past couple of weeks have been horrible and hectic with appointments and treatment. Its only when you look back that you realise.
Im also going to make a determined effort re christmas because its not going to go away...I wish....
Glad you had a good Birthday Hester.
Hugs to everyone who is having a hard time.

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

DS is in the dog house. He's just broken the lovely Willow Tree ornament that my parents bought for me last Christmas trying to get something off the mantlepiece  Between him and DD they are doing my head in today

Sorry needed to vent.
Betheebee not quite sure how to help you but when I go to advanced in order to type a response there is a box called Additonal Options. There is a drop down list for Notification Type and you can pick an instant notification there. HTH. If not then I am sure someone techie minded will be along in a mo!I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Morning all
Seems a lot better weather this morning - wind has dropped too.
We went to my niece's 40th birthday party in Manchester last night. Wasn't too bad coming back over the motorway but quite wild on the way there. Was thinking on the way back - who was it who said that they could see the farm in the middle of the road from where they lived?????? Just can't remember but was thinking of you last night and looking out for houses round about.
Today is going to be decluttering my bedroom - seriously need to go through my wardrobe and shoe storage baskets etc. Got a couple of presents to wrap this afternoon too. Will try and catch up with X Factor and Strictly then.
Think we may go out for Sunday lunch for a change too there is a really nice carvery near by that is reasonably priced too.
Hope you all have a lovely sunday

Hi, having spent the last week reading tons of old-style threads, just wondering if I can join in?.
We're doing our best to become old-style (truth be told, OH always was, it just took me a while to come round to his way of thinking!). We currently meal plan, cook from scratch (mostly), use up all left overs, recycle, freecycle and only buy when the old stuff is completely worn out. OH has an allotment and is learning to grow his own veg.
However, we can do loads better - we only sporadically batch cook and freeze and we are still buying ready made snack foods (biscuits mostly) whereas I really want to start making them ourselves - especially coming up to Christmas. Our "convenience food dinners" are when my Mam (a cook and caterer) drops off the leftover pies and cakes from her shop (all homemade).
Time is an issue though; OH works full time including some weekends, I teach three days a week and I'm going back to full time after Christmas and we have three children (son 15, daughter 10 and son 22 months).
Anyway, as to today...
Planning to complete decluttering of DS1's bedroom
Hopefully would like to sort through my wardrobe and get rid of the stuff that is taking up room but never gets worn
OH is going to work at 2 o'clock so we had "Sunday lunch" yesterday so we have left over meat and vegetable potato cakes for lunch.
Got loads of planning to do for work next week
Got two people from freecycle coming to collect things and waiting to hear from a third.
Got loads of stuff to list on ebay but will be happy to manage half a dozen things.
Oh, and Sunday is ironing day!0 -
PippaS MIL has settled ok thanks for thinking of us. She hasn't been downstairs into the lounge yet but we're taking her recliner chair from home in today so she'll have her own seat
It's very bad form apparently to sit in someone else's chair and some of the residents are very territorial :rotfl: 0
