Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Sunday 22 November. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.
Morning.
Wet and windy here as usual. I just remembered that cider gives me a headache
It was a colleagues 40th birthday party last night and the bar did not have much choice. Either Carling lager or Worthingtons bitter, both boring! No ales nothing! So I had to settle for Magners.
IT was 80's themed, so we had to go in fancy dress. I dressed up as the russian leader Gorbachev... different I guess
Work this morning, and coffee and paracetamol has got rid of the head. I only had a few bottles so no drinky drive issues....:T
Hopefully a quiet day and then home for a roast while the storm batters the house.
Have a nice day.......

Good morning N9eav and all who follow. N9eav - great idea for fancy dress!
Well, not much to report here. DH has the cold that I've just got over but he doesn't seem to have it as bad - not yet anyway! Luckily for him, he usually gets over these things quickly, and it's not stopping him getting on with some painting.
It's a bit wet and windy here but nowhere near as bad as in the UK - I do hope none of you are in flood areas. What's happening in Cumbria is awful; I feel desperately sorry for all those poor people whose homes and businesses have suffered, and it's simply horrible that a policeman has lost his life.
I have some online work to get on with today - stuff that should have been done while I was ill - so I'm keeping the housework and cooking to a minimum - we are having leftover lamb hotpot for dinner - I just need to add some more potatoes to it.
After another stint of sanding down the taping and jointing yesterday morning, I had a good clean up in the afternoon to get rid of the inevitable dust, so the house is tidy enough to be going on with for a day or two.
I didn't catch up with the thread yesterday so I hope everyone is well and (((hugs))) to all those in need.

I'm half asleep and read the bolded part as you were STANDING down and taping and jointing, and I was thinking of some weird little tap dance/exercise routine! And then I couldn't work out why that would create dust!Dogs and Cats are better than kids because they eat less, don't ask for money... and if they get pregnant, you can sell their children!0 -
Morning all,
I have a contented DGD1 watching Whinni the Pooh after having been fed and topped and tailed. BM is on and have some baby clothes soaking. Why are bibs always white when most baby food is orange??
Popped a joint of beef on top of veg (prepped last night) in the slow cooker.
Got quite a bit of xmas prezzies wrapped y/day. I sorted out the Xmas card list, sadly the list is shorter this year as we have lost 3 friends.
Not much gets done on Sunday, our day of rest.
Off to catch up before jumping in the shower.
Hope it's a good day for all.0 -
Good Morning you lot.
Hope the headache goes fast N9eav
Mioliere - wet and windy here again though I cant really moan after seeing pictures of the floods elsewhere.
Not too much going on today because of the weather - more washing and ironing to be done, last nights washing up needs doing coz we sat down & watched strictly rather than get it done
Have M&S Oakham chicken for dinner with all the usual roaties etc. Must must sit down with everyone & menu plan for this week then start the online shop.
So basically nothing exciting today, have a lovely Sunday whatever you are doing.x0 -
Morning everyone.
We're clearing out MIL's flat again today (we did some on Friday evening) for a couple of hours. We have 3 and a half weeks left in which to do it  so it's all hands to the pump.
Lunch will be on the hoof so I don't know what yet. Dinner is roast gammon, roast pots & veg.
We will be visiting MIL this afternoon too. The usual washing, drying, ironing, homework, shoe polishing etc going on too.
Hugs to anyone who needs one xxx0 -
Morning everyone.
Had terrible night with DD. She decided to be up and crying for 3 hours on and off. She was in and out of our bed twice, cuddled in her room several times but refused to go off. I even considered getting up with her at 3am and just starting the Daily thread but she had one last cuddle and finally went off to sleep.
DS has a painting birthday party to go to today at midday so will eat this evening, probably chicken (it's all we really eat in this house :rotfl:).
Got more washing and cleaning to do (never got chance yesterday). Am hoping the weather stays dry to put some flowers down on my MIL's headstone - it was just too wet yesterday and H likes to linger a bit when we're there.
N9eav - I hope you got someone to apply the birth mark for your costume!
Betheebee - we had a bib in the design of a black dinner jacket for DS
I mostly used plastic bibs for DD as they clean easier and don't stain.

Good morning everyone  Had a lovley night with our friends last night. I was asked if I'd seen one friend on Children in Need on Friday and said I hadn't. That was because he was dressed as Pudsey  and I had, indeed, seen him

The group we were with are going to take a quarter each of our pig, so we had a summit conference about the logistics of dividing up the meat. Suffice to say, DH and I will be preparing a spreadsheet

She's very sweet though (the cat, not the woman, though she was lovely too)and as predicted the chicken phobic dog is terrified of the cat too. :rotfl:
Stick a pompom on the cat's bum and the dog will think they're twins

Congratulations on being Slinky Taplady :j Unfortunately my slinky days are long gone

DH bought some paint yesterday. Once they'd mixed it, they found a crack in the tin. DH didn;t want to reject it as he realsied it would be skipped :T but did he ask for a reduction
:wall: A bit more work needed to turn him into a MoneySaver
Pheasant and roasted roots for tea

Morning Everyone
Been a while since I posted.I've been suffering from the most horrid ear infection so nausea and dizziness have been a constant companion.
The weather here this morning is horrid but I reckon the rain will pass and we will get a dry day.Its Sunday so I've no intention of going over the doorstep.I'm thinking of getting the craft stuff out and doing some christmas crafts with the kids
On a domestic front the washing pile is huge and the ironing pile not much smaller so they need to be tamed today,I also need to bake some bread and cakes for lunchboxes tomorrow
Toad in the hole, mash and veg for tea with HM spotted !!!!!! and custard for pud
MSD-Hope Tris is feeling better and that all is well with you
Mioliere-Glad to hear you are feeling better.Has the dreaded ceiling been dropped yet?
