    Really want to apply for something but no i cant,just waiting until october to apply for a nice purchase card,for which then i will cancel my sygma & cap1 credit cards stick will stick with my leeds 6.9% LOB,and just have 2 credit cards then it will be it then....
  • Does anyone know of any other Vanquis 0800 numbers for the automated 24 hour service?

    The 0800 781 3614 was working yesterday but now rings for a few rings then has a 'doo, doo, doo' tone (it used to go straight to the 'press 1 for this, press 2 for that').

    I tried the 01634 numbers on say no to 0870 but they just give an engaged tone.

    You should call them - it may be lost, should come a few days before the card usually.... but not a week later than it... :o

    Sygma send the PIN out after the card. In my case 4-5 working days after. They are VERY slow off the mark, normally 9-10 days after approval for card to arrive and a further 4-5 days for pin :(

    Oh, and be careful about asking for a replacement pin - they charge £2 for this by default - so make it VERY clear to them that you want this charge WAIVED on the basis that you never received it in the first place - don't take it as a given that they'll waive the fee. They don't even know how to put a balance transfer through properly without generating all sorts of fees and interest that shouldn't be there...

    I applied for a standard co-operative current account yesterday with a view to keeping it for a year then applying for a Smile account (obviously having the co-operative current account for a while will help my Smile application greatly; and my chances of being approved for a Smile a/c without being an existing co-op customer are slim to nil for the next few years).

    Got the "We will write to you asking for more information" email six hours after I applied...

    Scrap that, seems to be working now. I rang it again and it went to the automated service, I mistyped my security number so hung up and dialled gain. This time it just rang before giving the out of service tone so redialled, it rang again before going to out of service tone, redialled a third time and it went straight through to the automated service.

    Rang Sygma, they confirmed pin was sent out a few days after card. Have said they will send out a reminder? It will take 7 to 10 days to arrive? However if it turns up in the mean time it will still be valid and useable.

    Just had a message from home. Aqua called from 0121 248 8815 asking for me. My wife told them to call back tonight.

    I applied online over 3 months ago and got the old dear john...so not sure why they would call now. I have received several text messages advising me to try a Pre-Paid Card over the last few months.

    I suspect it is something to do with that and that I am going to get the hard sell on a pre-paid card....unless anyone else has had a call like above and can advise????
