Hi,
Been reading though this great thread.
After some advice. I've got a default registered from two years ago but lots of green circles on all my other (six) accounts over the last 5 years. What's the best loan/CC rate i could hope to get? Any suggestions on who to try would be useful.
Car needs £1000 spent on it urgently and it's probably only worth £500 max so i'd rather replace it.
Thanks.0 -

Your own bank is the best place as they may relax the scoring...... who do you bank with, by the way?2010 - year of the troll

I've never borrowed from my current bank and I think I'd like to keep it that way for now.
I've currently only checked one of my credit files so I'll wait to see what the other one shows (just in case it's not registered on there).
I still have a credit card with a high enough limit (which has actually been increased since the default was registered). The APR is not great but at just over 20% I guess it's likely to be the best I'll get at the moment anyway?
If it wasn't for this default I'd have tried to get a 0% balance transfer offer.
My one worry is I'll spend on this card then they'll stick up the rate to a silly level and I'll be stuck.0 -

Hi mate
I am considering applying for Sygma by the end of January.
My Equifax credit file will look like this:
JD Williams 8 green 0s and 700 limit
Next 7 green 0s and 150 limit
Aqua 3 green 0s and 250 limit
Natwest 5 green 0s
3 Mobile 6 green 0s
APS (Cashplus) 4 green 0s
I am on the electoral roll and the number of searches on my Equifax file by the end of January will be 2 within 6 months and a total of 6 within a year.
Should I apply for a Sygma card by then or I better wait for a few months?
I applied for Barclays initial in August and was declined (even after appeal). I will probably re-apply by March as the pre-application check gives me better chances now (70% to 80%) and even shows now the Gold card (50% to 60%). Back in August it only showed the Initial at 60% to 70%. (Yeah, I do know they soft search Callcredit, but I believe my Equifax file currently looks better than callcredit).
No way of touching lenders who search Experian, too many searches there at the moment. I will wait patiently for them to drop.

I made a payment for £270 to Aqua Card Services at 4:05pm via the Aqua website. I had a call on my mobile and voicemail at 4:07pm from HSBC fraud department and a phone call on my house number at 4:09pm.
They wanted to confirm the payment and that I had recently given my debit card details to iTunes.
Quite impressed that they phoned me within 2 minutes of making a payment they did not recognise/flagged as fraud.

never-in-doubt wrote: »Yes it is normal - Sygma are the bank, creation are the finance company and they pretty much search you as well plus do a fraud/id check so you end up with 2 searches (Sygma & Creation) and one footprint (Creation).....
Not necessarily with Barclays, they do this (footprint) so may lead to full search - ring them and ask?
NID,
Not heard from Sygma yet but I received a letter from Barclays to go in branch - I put a note on the bank accounts board. They need to see further ID but that's to be expected I guess!

good afternoon to all
Afternoon
It appears I got away with going over my limit. The statement shows the payment AFTER the 3 transactions in question (then I had a further transaction which was just £2 from a vending machine that let me use a credit card to getting drinks for me and my mate, those machines are quality they should introduce them everywhere!)0
