Just phoned captial one, due to not recieving my card yet, i am awaiting the Capital One Progress(Recieved pin 6 days ago).

They said i should recieve the card today or Tue at the latest. I also asked about limit and was told i have a £1500 limit. I thought that was quite high for an inital limit with CAP1, as most people on here seem to start off on £200.

Maybe i should of applied for the World Mastercard lol, ahh well hey.

very high to be honest i got £300 and im paid £34000 yearl also the max limit on that card im sure is £2500 u should be there in no time, and apparently according to customer services u get an automatic increase on ure 4th statement.......also u may wanna consider askin them to lower it to £300 to avoid any jealousy :rotfl:

Lol, i shall be awaiting the APR to go down before using it. Shall i make 1 small transaction each month and pay off in full? or the odd transaction? for the increases and stuff.

till ure 4th statement and increase id go with one small transaction and paying it off in full i like to set up experian on one of mine and equifax on another as it could arguably prove to them u take pride in ure credit, and also its less that a tenner a month transaction,

    :)

glasgow west end never had an urge to have a night out in glasgow ever lol

far as aqua if theyve sent u the cca uve got the card etc, also aqua is quite good as the show as halifax as opposed to aqua ie if any future creditors looked at ure file and saw vanquis theyd be thinking ahhh a SUBPRIME CARD whereas aqua showin as halifax will always pass as a mainstream :A

Sorry can I just point out, before we all get carried away with this tangent - a lender cannot see what card or who the lender is... for instance if Barclays search you, all they would see is you have a Credit Card - they will not know it is with Vanquis, and you could even lie and say it is with Lloyds or whatever - point is, all they see is the Product Type (card/bank/loan etc) and the balance and limit and repayment history.

They cannot see the lenders details or names. :D:D

Seems to be a few of us having Cap One cards going missing in the post lately!

I'm waiting for my replacement to arrive after phoning them a few days ago. Silly me forgot to ask my limit though :o

Nooo - all they can see is the product...

If you look at your credit file, you'll see the data all listed kinda like:

Barclays Bank - Account Type - Current Account

Then the start date and payment history with limit right? Well, when a lender searches you they see exactly the same (including the last 6 digits of the account number) except they cannot see the lender name like you can so their view would be like this:

    Account Type - Current Account

Hope that makes sense.... thus you'll see the company name is in a separate place on your credit file, cos it is dropped from the electronic version lenders can see... if they could see you use Vanquis, they could start to use peoples credit record as a marketing tool for instance they could search everyone and those on low incomes etc could be targeted for higher rate products.... the lender name has and always be omitted... :o

Oh, also the reason the whole account number is not there is cos each account is recognisable to a bank using the first 4 digits (BIN Numbers) therefore these must always be omitted....
