Damn just checked the box, the minimum is actually £300 not £500.... still sent the email asking why I've got £100 less though!

Are you on your 3rd month at the moment then? How much are you on now? To be fair I know for a fact I never applied for that one!! The APR decrease means nothing to me so I wouldn't have gone for it as, although it's a higher limit, it's harder to get, and most people hate students as it is!

Didn't you email them about it a while back?

I have a massive credit limit of £100.

Yes I emailed them but got a reply with the usual rubbish. I'll escalate it to the complaints department if I don't get an increase of the £500 they promised me when applying.

So you've switched to accountancy now? That's a dramatic change from computing.

Ah, I bet you'll be up to £200. They actually said £500? Because the box says £300 now...

Yea, hate computing.... The transfer is pending, it appears uni haven't suspended me like I asked for (which would mean my registration stays here and I can transfer in September internally), so I'm appealing that and putting in an official complaint - they suspended me for 2 assesments a few months back and that was nothing to do with me, they now want me to pay nearly 2 grand to retake both, or be kicked off....no way am I paying all that, should be a retake without penalty at the very least, but because of all this disruption I wouldn't pass anyway.

So I'm going to complain/appeal for my registration to be suspended until September, for the pending sanctions (me to be thrown out next week) not to be applied as I'll be suspended, and me to be allowed to transfer in September subject to HOD's approval (and he has approved me, so I'd go and get a course transfer form done if they accepted that). Capital One and Uni are as bad as each other, don't get anywhere with either of them so I doubt they'll accept it, meaning I've got to go through UCAS, and government capping could cause problems there...
  • Another wee success amongst some major stress for me.

Aqua unexpectedly authorised a card for £250.00 for me a day after my 7 yr long term partner said she wanted to split up!

    So that's Vanqius - 500 C/L, Capital One - 200 C/L, Aqua - 250 C/L and JD Williams 600 C/L.

All within 11 months of ending my DMP except of course now I'm single again! Guess all my money's gonna go to renting again:(

Was declined for a Tesco credit card, do you think it would be wise to appeal and send copies of my vanquis statements for past six months? Would they re-consider seeing that I have run the account perfectly?

Mate 3 months bank statements is what they usually want - plus a utility bill if you have one, if not then send a CC statement. :D

Received a letter from The Coventry this morning declining me the account.

    Ah well.

How so? They sent you the online access and security forms?

Have you rung them? I got that form then the account was opened, however my mate applied and never got the online access form and then got the declined letter....

I can only assume you were successful and then possibly rejected later, i'd be ringing them........

sorry to hear that, obviously you can see why I was happy for you Friday - I had the same form which allows internet / phone access, why send that if you've been unsuccessful? Go Figure :o:o

Maybe Coventry got further info ie adverse info and decided to close account? Best to call them up. It does look rather stupid from Coventry's position.

    Damn, you were almost there!

    Hey all...

I got my first CC in a long time back in Dec 2009, a Vanquis card with a £250 limit and 42% APR which I have cleared every month so far. I also have a JD Williams account which I haven't used in a month or two with a £900 limit and zero balance.

My experian and equifax credit reports both show a default for an Orange mobile phone contract in 2006 for £103 now owed to "Arrow Global", ironically I have since had and settled 2 Orange mobile contracts since.

My equifax credit report has two other older defaults on, but these vanish next month when they hit 6 years - these are possibly why I got accepted for Vanquis who only check Experian and declined for Cap1 and Aqua who check EQ or both.

Is it worth me paying off this £103 debt? Will a settled default really look any different from a non-settled one from a lending point of view? Or will it just reset the 6 year wait for it to go away?

Also, I have been using the Experian "lowermybills" service to give myself an idea of what I will be accepted for without leaving "Hard" searches on my file. I remember finding another site that did this but used EQ as well, but now don't remember it! Does anyone have an idea what it could have been?

    Thanks!
