    Hi everyone,

My luck has finaly run out lol. After flybe and asda, i pushed my luck further.

I applied for the egg money world mastercard on 02/03/10. I got accepted with 1400 limit and 21.9 apr.

I got a phone call from egg on 04/03/10 to confirm if it was me that applied for the card. went through security and they told me they will carry out further checks and will send me card in 2 days if all ok.

I found out that they made another enquiry on my EX report same day. Now i am told I've been DECLINED!

I dont know why. I can only think of 2 things that have changed inbetween the 2 searches. Halifax searched me for Current account and accepted me on 3rd march.
My flybe card also started showing on my credit files. I thought that was quick. I was only accepted for flybe card on 23rd feb and by 3rd march it was already on my reports.
Maybe they didnt like the new account or the halifax search.

Ah well i'll wait 6 months to reapply.

I seem to be delined for anything that searches EQ even though the searches dont appear on my report. I am trying to battle it with EQ. I call them nearly everyday and they always say the lenders never search me!

I've read all that has been going on here and I think it's deplorable that people are being nasty to each other.

At least i am glad it's all sorted now.

I however think it will be best if people only talked about credit related issues here and not their private lives. That way you wont give anyone a loaded gun. After all, that is what this thread is about?

I've just brought a laptop for £310 with next day delivery (ebuyer take a lifetime with the free option so thought I might as well just pay the tenner, this stupid netbook is awful). My credit card payment appears to have gone through so I would've been 50 over my limit with the purchase....I just sent £100 through online banking (I know I've got a few things pending), then checked out on ebuyer, will doing that so I get the bulk of it on credit work? As the payment might not show up in time....

Was going to go for ebuyers finance option until I realised the total was £725 - what happened to 0% option!!!
  • Hello all,

I am currently gearing up to make an application for the Capital One Classic card, I just have 1 or 2 accounts which aren’t showing up on my Experian report, as soon as the issue is resolved I will be applying.

I had a couple of questions regarding fields in the application form which I hoped you may be able to advise on:

Residential status: The address I will be using for the application is my parent’s address as this is my permanent UK address that all my banks are registered to and where I am in the electoral roll. However, I am not at this address full time as I rent properties which I live in usually for no more than 12 months, therefore I am a private tenant at these properties but they are not my permanent UK address. Am I ok having “Private tenant” as my residential status or will they take that to mean I am a private tenant at my parent’s property?

How long have you been with your bank: I have been with my primary current account holder for only 1 year, however before this I was with another bank for 10 years and continue to use them for savings and for my secondary current account (which has limited activity). Should I state 1 year to this question or can I state 10?

Other household income: Here do I have to specify the income at my parent’s property or should I provide the details of me and my girlfriends income at our rented property?

Thanks you very much for any help.

Do you ever actually live at your parents address? If you don't then I guess it could be deemed to be lying, as you should be putting where you live, even if it is your own rented properties. I don't think it'll make too much difference though. I'm in Student Halls at the moment but use where I used to live as my address, and will be doing the same thing next year if I get on my new course. The status should match the property you are putting down - e.g. when I put down where I used to have I have to put "living with parents", if I were to put down my student halls I'd have to put down the student halls/housing option. Technically I'm in Student Halls, but that's not the address I've put down on their form, so living with parents it is

I use the longest one, if it shows on your credit report then I think they can verify it through that anyway - even if it does only have limited activity, if it's still open I think that's fine

That's where it gets tricky, as if you say you are living with your parents it technically should be theirs, but then you're actually with your girlfriend....lying on that could be pretty serious if you're found out.... I'd be tempted to say use you and your girlfriend's, but if that doesn't match the norm for where your parents live it could be flagged up

That is all just my opinion using my experience, I'm not sure what you should actually do morally or legally etc, but in my experience using my home address when I'm not there is fine (some places even recommend it for students), assuming you are not a student then it's probably not the same situation for you...

Almost had a car crash today.

Was coming down a road and some mad b*tch just came out from a side road, directly on to my side and I was literally inches from smashing in to the side of her car.

I beeped my horn and shouted some rude words and she gave me a rude look, as if she thought it was my fault.

All of the near accidents I've almost had.. has always been with women drivers, it seems there is a pattern merging. :rotfl:
