;)
Its called credit scoring and you passed - quite simply.
yes i agree but if you look on the other thread on here i am not the only one with defaults to accept for a classic account. i was told the only difference between classic and cash account is the card can be used at any link ATM . maybe they have lowered their credit scoring criteria.
And just because its a full current account if i applied for any credit it would probably be declined.0 -

Ok, sorry i'll try to explain it again 'forget the other posts in here - it is a fact that a classic account is credit scored and based solely on passing such score'......
They are not easier than other lenders or anything else, the classic account comes with chequebook, full card and the ability to apply for credit whereas the basic account does not afford such functions.:D:D

You have 123 searches :rotfl::eek:
Are there even 123 different decent products you can apply for!? How did you end up with that many!?:eek:
Lol, long story but I used to test things and so got the odd cifas/search etc but all sorted now - just waiting for searches to drop off.....Ah thanks, so it won't just be a reply with a card or a welcome letter or anything like I got with Capital One then?! (That wasn't an appeal but it said 7-10 days and I assumed it would be unsuccessful).
Well it will be if you've been accepted, of course....NID can you look at this one too please (I have done the letter but haven't printed it yet (will print it at uni) just want to check a few things are ok before I do it).

Thanks
Mate, have you actually applied to MBNA recently and been declined? You're confusing me nowOh ignore the bit about overdrafts as I was told in another thread to pay that back, so I'll mention in the "adverse info" bit that I used it so I didn't have to use my other savings
No need at this stage mate, just say you have an ISA and savings - don't bore them with too much complicated details, your credit file seems ok so to be fair i'd send one letter saying please reconsider, here is proof of savings and other cards etc - please reconsider. My template is not really designed for people with a good credit file.....Also I'm sending originals, so I've included a bit saying I'd be grateful if they return them in their own time, after reviewing their decision. Is that pushing my luck? It's just that I like to keep copies of stuff, and I'm sending copies of O2 bills & Credit Card bills, so my collection is going to be rather short (I'm sending about 10 bits of paper, Student Status etc!)
I'm lost - have you applied and been declined, if so when? :beer:2010 - year of the troll

I know what you mean, other than them adding a cifas on me (lol), they also don't want me but when my searches have dropped i'll be in a better position to apply and see what they say this time! I don't even want to bank with them, just want to see what they say!:D

Thanks. I was declined in June for the England card, then I applied for something else recently and got the decline email on 23rd Nov, but it doesn't say what it was I applied for. I'm pretty sure it wasn't England again though, because I recognise the application page from June, but can't remember applying recently again for it. I can't think what it could be though after looking at lists of what's done by MBNA. They rejected me for the play.com one in August too... If I was to apply for England now and get a decline (well hopefully acceptance but hey....) even though it's another search could I then use the letter to say that's the only one I really wanted, applying for others was a mistake and ones offered have been closed, I see the England card as being my main card etc?

Haha, that 123 searches sounds interesting!

Right there is your problem (see bold text above)....
MBNA - one application per 6 month period! So, you applied in June 09 , August 09 and Nov 09 - this is way tooooo many so auto decline i'm afraid. You now have to wait 6 months from the date of last application (so 25th June 2010) before reapplying or you'll constantly get declined cos you fail to meet their criteria, i.e. by applying within 6months....
Why are you fascinated with MBNA - they are actually rather !!!!!! and their APR aint that good either mate!2010 - year of the troll

Haha ah that’s right because they are all MBNA then MBNA won’t change their mind even though it’s a different product? I was just thinking if I was to apply for England (despite having another MBNA app a few days ago, and 2 in the few months before this!) they might manually overturn it if the appeal was strong enough? So there is no point doing the appeal even for whatever card it was that I applied for the other day then? I'll save it for Barclays instead if they decline me
And wouldn't it be end of May I can re-apply, not end of June? If it's end of May and granted that would be a nice birthday present
Also, as there will be England football going on in May (I've seen MBNA people offering leaflets and a free hat etc at Wembley before), if I was to find one of them and pickup a form but send it later (match will be mid-May so still not 6 months) would that stand a better chance of being accepted as they might be able to see it’s via a salesperson? But then the sales people might want me to do the form there and then so don't know
As for 6 months, Capital One accepted me in October, but that was less than 6 months! I know you are supposed to wait 6 months though, that’s why I was surprised when I realised!:eek:0 -

The play application was purely for vouchers, if I'd have realised it was MBNA before applying I wouldn't have done itnever-in-doubt wrote: »I applied to Crappy1 last night (why did I do such a thing lol) and got the following:

Ok, from the start (i'll make it nice and easy for you hehe)...
MBNA are a mainstream lender, they clearly state that one application is permitted in any 6 month period, whether accepted or not. This means any additional app's will be auto declined at source, i.e. they won't even use the CRA data supplied in the search cos you failed the first hurdle - 'do you qualify' - no!
Therefore you cannot apply again until 6 months have passed since your last application, which assuming it was 23rd November then it would 25th May next year (6 months plus a couple of days extra).....
Regards to England card, they really aren't that good mate! MBNA do most the football clubs cards - there are better cards out there - Much better cards!
Filling in the paper form makes no difference, it does confirm you exists but that's it - nothing has ever been proven that suggests the street vendors help an applicant get accepted, it only proves they have seen a human claiming to be that person. In the old days (i.e. 10+ years ago) they used to help, I always applied at the airport and always got accepted.... not so now though.
Crappy1 as with other sub primers, state 6 month between app's but are happy to re-evaluate earlier if a significant change affected the original decision. So say I apply in August but have a default so get declined, but then I fight and get the default removed in November and decided to reapply, this wouldn't be instant decline because my new app is based on the principle reason for declination the first time round....
Make sense? :beer:2010 - year of the troll
