Boots still haven't charged me for that perfume I bought a few days ago. Not even a pending transaction.

  • Have you changed your overdraft limit more than one within the last 6 months?

HSBC charge a £25.00 arrangment fee should you make more than one overdraft change request in a 6 month period.

This has been in place for a long time and I found out when I requested a tempory overdraft increase for one month and was told to make a request for a permanent increase due to the fact I would be charged an arrangment fee as I had made a request 3 months earlier.

    hope this helps.
I have never requested an o/d increase. I will certainly be complaining!

I've got the bug today. Am looking at that Apply button on Halifax Reward account. I applied 7 weeks ago but was declined. I haven't had a search in 5 weeks now. Hmmmm....
Stay away! Dont do it! LOL.

Effect, why do you want this account sooooo much? Is it the generous pre-approvals or something?

Haha! How much did you previously have?

Won't having too much effect you badly for future apps though? That's the problem I might have with my overdraft. And if HSD put my limit up I'm going to ask for it to come back down

Not really as I earn a resonable salary. I might have 5k of available credit but in the real world this is nothing as for example my dads credit limit on his CC is over 15k

Remember you need to prove to lenders that you can manage a high limit. It may also flag up to lenders that your other accounts have not increased your limit as you run you account badly
