LOL Well... I suppose least said soonest mended!
No need to go app crazy - only two search Equifax exclusively anyway - Barclaycard and Sygma Cards... seeing as you applied to Barclaycard already... well it's up to youCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Hey here's a thought...
How cheeky would it be to raise a Notice of Dispute against all the searches I have on Equifax? It's inevitable that atleast one will not respond within 30 days so EQ will remove it (BT...) and atleast one will agree to remove it (Virgin Media)... perhaps more?
Any potential adverse effects of running this cheeky stunt?
EDIT: Well there are 10 open disputes with EQ now... LOL that'll either go down like a house on fire... or like a house on fire. We'll see either way
Won't work, the CRA's will not remove searches unless specifically advised to by the lender - this is actually done online and so they get a feed authorising the removal from the lender.
The CRA's have got used to people trying these stunts and so have tightened up, one of the most stringent things they do now is leave everything until such time the lender authorises or until you issue court papers to them (a little extreme) lol
Good try but you'll get 10 replies stating 'the lender confirmed the record is accurate and any dispute should be raised directly with them'.2010 - year of the troll

I waited nearly 3 months for Virgin to remove a duplicate search.0 -

My current barclaycard application was delined. It was for Premier credit card. I already have the gold card but they said because i had the premier life account they could upgrade it for me. application was refered and then declined on the bases that they didnt have much payment history from me. only had barclaycard last june.
Sygma delined me in July but maybe might be good idea to try them again? mind you when i applied to sygma it was my 4th application within a week! no wonder they delined me0 -

Nothing adverse about it!! It is cheeky to do it but why not if it will reduce the number of searches.
In my experience, Equifax will not remove dispute data if the lender concerned has not responded to your dispute. They just keep the dispute open for as long as possible.
Good luck!0 -
