Yes, as I said this is a link between you and the missing data that the CRA's know is you, that you have 'attempted' to conceal, whether deliberately or otherwise.

So, it appears you used Spain as your last address but the CRA's had already known you lived somewhere before Spain with outstanding derogatory data thus they will link it allowing lenders to read what it says and make their own assessment (i,e accept/decline/or cifas!) :D

I agree with what you are saying, but no one asks me to go back further than my two previous addresses, so its not like I am concealing it :p

EVERYONE who has checked me in past 6 months has asked for two previous address info which I have given 100% correct.

Basically what he said was that I do not have full history on there:

here is how it is (past 6 years)

    May 2004 to March 2005 - Spain
    March 2005 to May 2005 - Address 1
    May 2005 to August 2007 - Address 2
    August 2007 to Present - Address 3

I gave them address 1, 2 and 3, and what he said is there is additional info the lenders can see, that I cant, which is info from my addresses before Spain, so he added them, and voila, two defaults from Orange show up! :(
Won't the default go soon though? The last time you could've got it is May 2004 (just before Spain) so being 2010 it'll be gone in a few months at the latest?

yes, you are correct, however it didnt defaut until 2005, so there is another year!

But it will be statute barred in May, so if something is statute barred can I ask them to remove it from my credit file?

Hmmm that's an interesting one! Things I've read before say it's removed 6 years after the date of the default, so maybe although they should stop chasing you soon (although if they've taken you for another contract they clearly don't seem to be doing much of that!) it might not be removed from your record until 2011? NID or someone will probably confirm either way later

Yes what you say is right, for lenders (usually 3 years addresses are needed with the exception of Tesco and a few others who ask for 2)....

HOWEVER the CRA's go back as long as is relevant to end the link and this is usually 6 years but as you were abroad they discount that so you needed to have a clear 6 years addresses in the UK or they will go back further, additionally they may have had someone search using all your details but a different address which created the 'hidden' link. It is hidden to you cos it could breach DPA - i'd suggest you SAR Experian mate to see exactly what they 'know' about you ;)

    So, based on this:

    May 2004 to March 2005 - Spain
    March 2005 to May 2005 - Address 1
    May 2005 to August 2007 - Address 2
    August 2007 to Present - Address 3

You'll be needing to supply the following:

What address from Jan 2004 - May 2004?
    May 2004 to March 2005 - Spain
    March 2005 to May 2005 - Address 1
    May 2005 to August 2007 - Address 2
    August 2007 to Present - Address 3

This gives the CRA's a definitive link and chances are the address you're obscuring (i.e. address prior to spain) is the address that the defaults were originally linked to - am I right?

Anyway, point is they caught you mate - basically you left a link open, whether that was an account or you applied too early when you came back to the UK....

    Make sense now? lol :D
    :o 2010 - year of the troll :o

Yes that is the address the defaults were linked to, which he has now added to my data (he actually added two addresses, my one from March to May 2005, and the one from before I went to Spain.

I wasnt trying to avoid this address, as with Spain taken into account, that is six years history. Weird how as I missed this address (which I thought was correct) it brings up more defaults (I did say when I got my file I was surprised as I thought it would have more on it.

Either way a default drops off on the 10th, for £738, to HFO, dont even know who they are???

the Orange one drops off in 2011, but I now have an account with them - funny that!

Haha I just got my very own cash advance :P. I used my credit card in the shop up the road from uni the other day, they overcharged it (and I didn't even realise), went there today and they gave me the extra money and said they felt really bad when they noticed! The owner is so nice though, always talks to me about uni when I go in, still nice of him to give the extra back though, it was only a few quid and I never noticed!
