Yay Halifax have found me :p

    Now it says....

Thank you for your recent application for a Reward Current Account. We are currently carrying out further processing on your application. We are sorry to keep you waiting and in most cases will contact you within 48 hours to inform you that the application decision is ready to be confirmed online.

    Thank you.
Please click 'Continue' to return to 'My Accounts'

*Long winded way of saying...."We're about to decline you, please wait while we get a letter sent out...." :p *

Must admit I do find their verification a laugh though, selecting to call my mobile etc. Much better than that joke of a card reader that I got from Natwest which always displays the wrong code as it can't seem to work out I've got 2 accounts, and technically I should call their helpdesk but I just go on as if it's right and it works :p

Put iTunes on your PC if it isn't already then today go to itunes.com/day11 in your web browser and tomorrow go to itunes.com/day12 and you'll get the last two

I think that it is okay. What happen with the Argos card application ?

I have made a massive booboo when applying for my Argos Store Card, my address looks like the following example; Flat 3, 7 St James Court, but when I searched my address online, I have obviously forgot to change the block number, so Argos had me down as Flat 1, 7 St James Court...good job I called them!

She said she cant give me any details as she couldn’t verify my account (fair enough) then I asked what I need to do, as obviously this could have an effect on my credit file, and also people getting information on my name....she went through to the underwriters who said they will change the address as re-assess the account, and they will rectify the changes on my credit file at the end of this month (when they next upload info to the CRA perhaps?) but in the meantime is there anything I can do, maybe send a letter or something to make sure this wont affect my credit file? Also will this not flag a CIFAS or n hunter?

Personally I don't think it will be too bad as long as you've updated it, especially if what you updated it to is what other accounts have already.

I say that just because my address is in the format of AAA BBCCC, AAA, BB and CCC are all normal words on their own, so I end up with all kinds of variations like AAABBB CCC or AAA BBB CCC/AAA BBB-CCC, because when I read it out people assume it's 3 normal words and then add their own interpretation of how it should be displayed. O2 had me down (and authorised my application (with a deposit but that's because I had no credit at that point)) as AAA BBB-CCC - they even shortened the CCC bit, I have no idea why! – But I corrected it when I noticed my statements looked stupid and everythings fine on my credit report, including my payment history etc. It seems a minor error for you too so I wouldn't worry as long as they update back to CRA :)

Just I had problems with CIFAS before, and last thing I want is for them to flag my account....

It looks like the account was a decline, because she said the underwriters will look at it todayand send out a letter! what annoys me is that why the three times I have called previously has no one advised me of this, I am so annoyed!

This is the difference from the refund v balance right? Remember I told you months ago that the refund will always clear any balance first and foremost. If this has been done and there is an outstanding rebate amount then simply write back, with a copy of that letter and ask for the cheque to be sent within 21 days. If they do not send it then start small claims action against them - you'll win as you have the proof that they should have paid you.

Why you refused the last cheque, beggars belief mate!

Mate cifas don't flag anything - the lender does and because you spoke to argos then all trace of the original search will be removed and replaced with the correct version, failing that just ask the CRA to amend the record.

Regards to N Hunter & CIFAS - for the 278th time now - they only record acute patterns of abuse, a simple typo would NEVER be flagged. :D:rolleyes::D
