Now that you have a decent Sky picture upstairs it means your coax and the connections you made are probably OK. But, remember, you are receiving the Sky picture upstairs on an Analogue channel. To get Freeview, you now need to switch the TV to Digital and follow the manual to get it to auto-tune to find all the Freeview channels.
One other thing, when you tuned to find the Sky channel, did you also see the old analogue BBC and ITV channels (assuming you haven't already switched to digital in your area)?0 -
hiya, yes i found the other channels i.e bbc1 to channel 5 some of them wasnt the best qualitiy in picture though, so now i have found the sky channel on the annologue channels ur saying that i need to switch to DTV and auto tune it to find the channels0

Yes Paul,
BBC1, BBC2, ITV, CH4, CH5 & (sky box output) are all analogue.
To tune in the freeview, you need to select to DTV (Digital Tv) which will find the channels within seconds..
Therefore, you can watch Sky upstairs, and watch freeview too. Though, now you have sky upstairs, i can see you having one of them magic eye sky controls and just turning sky over from the bedroom upstairs..0 -
have sky tv downstairs , which i have ran a coax cable from back of skybox to my room which i operate using a magic eye , i am due to get my tv upstairs installed with freeview box for the digital switch over , will i still be able to operate my sky tv with magic eye , even when my tv gets installed with freeview for switchover0

Short answer is yes. If your bedroom TV has Freeview you can view that on the digital tuner and as long as it has an analogue tuner too you can watch the sky RF2 output on there and control the sky box.0
