    mm how about a rice pudding? 1 pint mild add 2 tablespoons rice (pudding rice if you have it - or paella rice) cook for about 1 hour then add sugar..

    Great minds think alike. You can just bung it all in the slow cooker if you would prefer. Have made rice pudding twice in the past week alone. Yum!

    Or you could make Kulfi but you would still have milk left over...

    If you don't have any pudding rice, you can always make the rice pudding with risotto rice - in pretty much the same way as you would make a savoury risotto, but just with milk, sugar, and some fruit if you have it. Delicious!

    As the title says I have got 5 pints of milk on todays date. Can I use this to make butter? If so can somebody provide quantities etc.

    You need cream to make butter ;) Try this thread on using up milk. I'll merge this thread later.

    why dont you freeze the milk - or make milk puddings and freeze them.

    I've got about 4 pints of milk I need to use before it goes off. We don't have room in the freezer to freeze it (am doing storecupboard challenge though so might have in about a week!), and I can't drink that much milk! Any ideas of what I can do with it?

    Custard, rice pudding, macaroni pudding etc Milk jelly.
    Sauces, white & cheese. Cauliflower cheese, pasta in a cheese sauce.
    Bread and butter pudding.
