Lidl are selling both drowsy and non-drowsy Galpharm for 85p for packet of 7.

Tesco are actually doing their own brand 1 a day 30 packs on BOGOF at the moment. Again they are not on display but behind the counter.

what make is it? you said two months supply does that mean you got 60 tablets for only £1.99?

what do you mean by they are in a cupboard?

The make is cetirizine and I had a prescription for 60 tablets but they told me at the counter that they sell a packet of 30 for 1.99 so I'd be better off buying direct from them over the counter so it worked out to £3.98 for 60.
I didn't see them on the shelf though, she had them stored in a cupboard so you may have to ask for them.

The two most common hayfever remedies can be bought in packs of 7 off-the-shelf or in packs of 30 over the counter (i.e. from a pharmacist but without a prescription). Unsurprisingly OTC is much cheaper. Tesco had them BOGOF for £3.49 a pack last year, looks like they do this year too, guess I'll have to stock up again...

Here's a better Hayfever Relief. Works wonders for me!

    Buy Local Unrefined Honey.

Since Honey is made of Pollen, which is the primary cause of hayfever, it actually becomes a 'remedy' countering the pollen.

And it is especially important to be 'Local' as the local pollen is causing your problem. So use local pollen as your remedy :)

You'll find it at your Local Farmers Market. One tablespoon or more on toast each day!

    Have a Hayfever Free Summer!!!!
  • And if that doesn't work, shove a dollop of honey up each nostrel... ;)
  • cetirizine and loratadine (spelling?) are second line anti-histamines that arev fairly non-drowsy. Try and avoid chlorphenamine (very sedating!!)

I find chlorphenamine(old style piriton) quite effective, although the drowsiness can be be a nuisance.

Another tip for hayfever sufferers is to line your nostrils with vaseline before venturing out (also smear some under the eyes). Sounds weird - but it does help.

Boots hayfever tablet prices are high anyway, although I do get mine from there as I find that Benadryl Acrivastine (NOT the orange box saying "1-a-day") work the best. They were on 2 x 12 packs for £6.00.

The other ones don't work for me any more. I'm a serious hayfever sufferer!!

Yep I also have to go with the Benadryl acrivastine (8mg for each tablet, but they last 8 hours. So you can 3 a day if needs be).

I used to take the 1 a day tablets, but as they are only 10mg per tablet I found myself needing a bit more. Hence my switching to Benadryl acrivastine.

Unfortunately it is only Benadryl that sell the tablets with the ingredient acrivastine (so no cheap supermarket alternative).

They are however cheaper in Superdrug at the moment - when I last went in they had all hayfever tablets on bogof, and I got 2 x 12 packs for £4.50 odd.

Just a shame that they had sold out of Nasaleze, and they are now said to be discontinuing it at the store! Don't they like demand exceeding supply or something? :-)
