DS about to become a Half brother
Comments
-
Well the half sister finally arrived 8.45 this morning, after 3 days of hell for the mother to be a caesarian was required, but mother and baby are doing fine.
spoke to the ex this eve, explained the sooner ds meets his sister the better to help with bonding, and to show he isn't being pushed out, ex agreed and said he would see him next weekend.
Ds gave a small smile when i told him the news this eve.
there is hope after allLife is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -
First time poster to this thread - glad to read that baby is born safely and your son wasn't too freaked out at the news! Hope you are doing ok Paparika, as I read that you were a bit upset at first.
From my perspective, my baby half brother was born when I was 13 and I don't think I showed much interest in the pregnancy, but secretly I was excited about having a sibling. He was/is technically my half brother but as far as I was concerned he was my baby brother, details were not relevant. Anyone who mentioned the word 'half' was shot down in flames! BTW 18 years later he is still my baby brother - much loved and much annoying at times!! Lol.
Hope everything works itself out between your DS and his new sister and they have a happy relationship with each other for many many years.:A kimmi_b0 -
Have not had time to read the whole thread - but a thought that may help!
Thinking back to when my SS was that age - a new baby is positive proof that Dad and his new partner "do it". Ath 14 this is just too yeuck to really contemplate, especially as most of them are just getting to the stage where they think they are the first generation to discover anything like that.
Now the baby has arrived he will be able to focus less on the sex side and more on the baby, but most 14 year old boys that I know of have a relativley small amount of interest in babies of any description.
Also, showing enthusiasm for anything at 14 is pretty uncool - especially if it involves your parents :-)
Leave him and his Dad to handle it themselves - bloke communication is a mystery to ladies but it seems to work for them :-)
