Morning!
Haribo, you do make me smile, thanks.I don't think I'd be up for the banter if I'd been awake as long as you.Hope you're crafting goes without any gluey mishaps.
Sunnygirl-really sorry to hear of DH's job.
Diva-glad to hear you can still talk to Tris and he's enjoying the snow.
Hugs-to anyone who could do with one.
Well,I've got everyone at home today, unemployed DS1,and now DH and DS2 who have run out of work.I can't really see much coming in before Christmas now,and the building trade is always bad after Christmas anyway so we are another family pulling our belts in.
DS2 has a holiday booked snowboarding in January,so I really hope he's saving up for his spends.Fortunately its all inclusive so he shouldnt need too much.
On the plus side DS2 has had 2 interviews in the last week, but I've stopped being too optimistic about any interviews as the short lists are too long IYSWIM.
DH and I may go to town in a bit.If its chickens at M&S 2 dine then thats a fair few meals, and atreat.Mind you we had a Co-op chicken too last night,so we have lovely broth for dinner with lentils ,veg and barley.I need to make another loaf as yesterdays will soon disappear with everyone in.
We have been invited up to our friends tomorrow night-not been out on a Sat since X-factor started :rotfl:
I havestarted making a Christmas runner for the table, will finish that later.
Hope everyone has a nice day,and that the rain stops for the people affected by flooding. We're in the North, but strangely it didnt rain at all here yesterday.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning all,
Thought I'd pop in and say hello whilst taking a break from ironing. DGD 8mths old now,has gone down for a nap. I've made a batch of veg medley, a chicken casserole and egg custard for her. I'll portion and freeze so DD1 has plenty stocked up.
Soaked a chicken brick last night and will pop a chicken in it for dinner tonight.
Still have loads of apples from DF so might find time to make an apple cake.
I really must try and catch up with all of your news.
Hope it's a good day for all.0 -
Sunnygirl- Sorry to hear your news
Its started to rain in Newcastle now, only rained on Monday for about an hour and we've had none since so I think its our turn. Those poor people in Cockermouth, hope they find the Police Man.
Im still in pain with this tooth and now feel like im getting a water infection, must be the tablets, had about 2 hours sleep last night. On the plus side while I was getting a drink of water last night a fox ran past the window and was milling about outside, not all bad news for a night of no sleep :rotfl:
Loving the new look Aussiegirl
Have a good weekend everyone, hope the weather's not too bad0 -
Am reading this with a vision of HJ asleep on the naughty step, with a bottle of sloe gin stuck to her hand, while Mioliere, Rubyred, MSD, Morwenna, & everyone else do crafty things with her twins!! :rotfl:0

Just a quick post to congratulate Jackie O's Danny. I know how hard it is to get in on an media career so good luck to him.
Diva, thanks for the reminders of people missing - I've been wondering how Fairy Elephant is.
Going to IKEA tonight to replace a bookcase and bedside chest. Then a weekend at home for once so will have lost to be getting on with.0 -
Woke up this morning to a blue sky and sunshine...wasn't sure what was wrong for a minute! Still windy but that I can handle.
Had to take Kerry to the vet this morning, she was due her second shot but hasn't been in great form for a couple of day....v & d and not eating at all yesterday, as well as being generally down in the dumps. Vet happy that she is ok, so gave her the shot. She doesn't mind the lead but hates being near the road so we had to practically drag her along the bit of footpath to surgery...she's had a good run around since and is currently asleep on the couch beside OH.
Sunnygirl...so sorry to hear your news, hopefully he will get something soon...glad that I am a pensioner at times, although allegedly our budget on 9th Dec is going to cut most things and tax what it doesn't!
My mind has gone blank so hugs to all who are ill or in trouble of any kind....nice to see you so much brighter to-day Hester.
Second wash on at present, just about to make beef stew for dinner, hopefully will have enough to go in freezer for another meal next week....still having trouble catering for just 2 of us and OH is allergic to having the same dinner two days in a row.
Have a good day all,

I have been looking for bras for DD1 she has just been measured and is a 34E, I cant find any nice bras for a 16 yr old in that size , it seems once they go over a D they only make bras for older folkany ideas? I have tries M+S la senza and primark
off to tidy up and have a cuppa

Best place for bra's in those sort of sizes (i'm a 34FF) is bravissimo, or if you can find a shop that stocks freya, they have really cute and trendy bra's. freya are not too expensive either compared to most big bra prices!
Hope no one minds me joining in, i do have a read most days, and have put losts of your MS tips into good practice lately!0 -
Good... well it's afternoon now.
MSD, I took the mouse comments in the spirit they were intended. I got the hint from one of the other forums here.
I went into work, just arrived on time. Tutors having punctuality and attendance issues with students at the moment so didn't want to be late!
Then I thought I would go to Morrisons for fuel, cash and shopping. What a mistake! It was absolute hell in there. I couldn't move and people kept banging into me. I'm not going in there again before Christmas. Got a couple of things in Aldi on the way home and it was calm and serene in there and no longer to wait at the till than in Mr M's. Had a Mr M voucher from dh's fuel and thought I must be due for one, you don't know how many points you have if you use Pay n Pump. Seems I'm nearly due for another. Had £4 of LV from market research so £14 off bill which was nice.
I was there to get offers and one or two other things that I can't get at Aldi. Stocked up on Flora Buttery - about half price, so got 10 for the freezer. 3 for the price of one pringles which will be hidden and 8 cans of pepsi, also to be hidden. Muller corners on offer too. I won't buy them unless they are! I need to enter amounts on my grocery spreadsheet to see how much I have to last till the end of the year. Pretty well living out of the freezer at the moment.
I'm exhausted. Parents and dh will be here before too long, so will get a cuppa and a bite of lunch. There isn't much in the fridge as I've been getting it all used up and organised, so might have to be a cuppa soup. Keep them for emergencies.
Visa bill has come, forgot that dd's hall fees would be on it :eek::eek::eek::eek: and just when I thought the cash flow was improving. Never mind, we both get paid before it's due.
Dinner tonight is heavyweight main meal type soup followed by plum gingerbread pudding. Found that on the internet last night, looks really good!
I could do with a nap I think.,"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
Trying not to waste food!:j

Sistercas I have the same problem, im a 34E and 22 and stuggle sometime. Primark usually have plain bra's in, little bit lacey in white/black, they look better on than on the hanger. Bravismo is good too but a bit pricey, its a stuggle when you wear an odd size, I used to be a 32E which was even more of a headache!0
