without wanting to sound harsh, can i just point out the following,
1) if an old friend of yours works at the dole office (or whatever the modern term is for it) swallow your pride, get down there and get his advice and get the dole. lifes too short to be embarressed about things that happen to lots of people every day, do you really think you'll be the first person he's known who has been in there? i'd be relieved if i knew someone there, would make it much less daunting for me.
2) do your best to get a job in what you know to get your debts sorted and money coming in asap, and look into courses you can study part time to train for something you want to do, i.e. computers etc. that way, you get the best of both worlds. theres loads of part time courses out there, learn direct do some you fit in at centres to suit you, i've done a couple, different times every week, but still got the passes at the end. that way whilst you may not be totally happy at work in whatever your doing, you have the light at the end of the tunnel that its only a stop gap on the way to something more fulfilling.
3) hope it didn't sound to harsh, best of luck to you, hope you get things sorted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!£2 saver club 30th sept 198 £2 coins = £396(£350 banked)0 -
Swallow your pride
Loads of people get made redundant and to actiavte the insurance in place on your various loans etc you have to sign on so this would be perfectly normal
Heck I had to do it once even if all I got was £32 but it activated my mortgage protection meaning I didn't have to worry about the £800 payment at the time
AND you get free education in a lot of places so very much worth it!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
toontastic wrote:In the mean time to pay your pills then you;ll need to get some sort of job and you may have to go and do jobs you wouldn't have wanted to do. Pubs, clubs even shops like Sports Soccer employ all the time so you might be able to get a job. And if you want to do a course you may find you need a part time job to pay for your time while your doing your work and paying your bills anyway.
Do you have any savings ?
A SOA would still be a good idea see if people can cut your costs back a bit especially while your going through this difficult time.
Well this is the problem, this is why i was thinking of declaring bankrupt because even if i do get a job it will be a poor wage..well at the beginning at least and will not be able to keep up with the payments, so i will be in exactly the same boat, yet if i declare bankrupt it would be a fresh start for me..dispite the bad things that will come with that...i dont know what to do rearly.
mm i have no savings..nope
Thanks0 -

Just swallow it. they muist have loads of people going in everyday, you never know he might not remember you.
At the end of the day youve paid in for this money, now your in need and its time for it to pay out. Effectively, this IS your savings:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Can I also just add a point. One thing annoys me with the government is if a company lays people off and they step in to help get new jobs the first thing they do is seem to get people on computer courses. Now this is fine as computers are used almost everywhere so everyone needs basic skills, the problem is when they get trained further up. I work in computers I'm a web design manager for the council. But I can tell you the number of jobs available which pay anything decent are very small you need to be a very good programmer to make decent money.
Best jobs to make cash from at the minute are of course stuff like plaster, sparky, chippy stuff like that as the country simply doesn't have enough.
Sorry just my little rantI really would check out the number of jobs in your area that you want to go into though before doing any training.

I agree with the above, dont care what other people think, its more important you take care of your own affairs regardless of what someone *may say*
im sure this friend has probably dealt with people he knows before so it shouldnt make any difference to them, it makes none to you
If you are that concerned then there are some wacky disguises ..
