Never had such a quiet time selling on eBay as now .....seems to be nothing good to buy to sell on eBay.
What I really need is a regular (good) supplier, but these seem to be near impossible to come across.
Any ideas?

Me too please!
Ideally I want an item that doesn't cost a lot, is easy for me to store and to post and sells for mega money! Now, is that too much for me to ask? ::)
The only serious reply I can make is to suggest that you browse ebay, all the strange little categories and specilalist auctions. Last year I came across something selling well and I had only that day seen a source for this item cheap, but I hadn't even thought about it for ebay. I sold a few at a time as I didn't want to committ to buying more that two or three at a time in case the market bottomed out. Over a period of months the market did begin to drop and last week I had my first ever one remain unsold. Luckily the unsold one is the very last I had bought so I put it up again on the 5p listing day and will pass it to a charity shop if it doesn't sell this time.
I have found the one thing I cannot do is trust my own instincts...the things I reckon will sell and sell I end up stuck with.

I think you really need to try different things and find a niche market. You need to do a lot of research to find the right product.
You also need to find something that you enjoy selling and have an interest in, that's the way to make real money.
For example, I sold a very unusual product tonight and trebled my money, so I'm off to get hold of a couple more tomorrow!
Not saying what it is or where I got it either!!!0 -
Everyone is keeping shtum!!
if someone is on to a good thing selling then they don't want competition!! At the moment I just sell bits and bobs of things!! my neighbour says she has a friend who has a good supplier of tractor tom stuff!! apparently she makes a fortune!! ...unluckily for me I have not the capital or space to endulge!! I shall ask her for more info is you are interested!!?

Don't we all.. chuck !! Don't we all
IME...I found that the items I know all about were easier to sell....I knew what they are worth, and I knew what they would sell for.
Plus........you have to know what is going to sell at what time of the year.
i.e I found that toys won't sell in summer, but will in winter before crimbo...obvious !!
Here is my favourite seller in summer.....yes...I'm giving away my secret ;D
I bought bike racks at the car boot sales. paid £5-£10each for them, and sold them....in the summer months for around £25-£45 depending on which type they were. couldn't find enough of them :-/
after summer, I couldnt sell my last one :-/
anything to do with sports, sells in summer, and in particular specialist sports like karate/judo/taekwando equipment, fishing equipment and motorcross stuff. If only everything in life was as reliable...AS ME !!

Should have kept this under your hat robowen.

Very True.
I've moved on now, they are a bit awkward to wrap if you get one without a box.
I have to say........My best sale was a 4 bike cycle carrier rack in a box, with a price tag on it....£85. paid £5 sold for £55.
As ;D I ;D walked ;D away ;D with ;D it ;D I had ;D one ;D big ;D grin on ;D my face. ;DIf only everything in life was as reliable...AS ME !!

Actually shopping in places like Aldi are good, for instance i bought 6 flat bed scanners at £49.99 each, i put them on e-bay as a featured item at auction, this cost me £11.30 i had over 400 hits in 7 days and sold every one for over £70, the best way is to list multiple items in ione lot and pay for the £9 featured item.
There are variouse whole sales out lets you can buy 20 of one item at a very low cost, search the web.
I just sell new stuff, you get more interest.Regards

I have never once bought anything decent from Aldi. :-/
They don't seem to have all these bargains in there when I go. :-/
Do you have to go when they open, or is it just luck when they put them out on the floor ? :-/If only everything in life was as reliable...AS ME !!

Aldi usually commence selling their 'headline' items each Thursday. I had to queue before 9.00am to pick up their latest laptop bargain. I have frequently seen their 'Medion' branded goods selling for a premium on eBay...the problem is getting your hands on the items, as they sell out so quickly!0
