  • I have my dress but its too small so I need to loose several pounds and it will be ok! So diet to definately start after christmas! I got a bargain - dress was reduced in sale - but had to take that one - as it was the one I wanted had to get it. Need to loose weight anyway so have a damn good incentive to get into it! Have my flower girls dresses (3) - Debenhams 25% off sale - they are so cute. Have my maid of honours dress - ebay £25 from a bridal shop closing down -current season stock - they are £160 (Forvever yours) so bargain! Will be ordering last dress (to match ebay bargain!) after xmas from Bridal Shop in Norwich.

Just ordered my invites and plan to get them sent out as soon as I get them after xmas.

Now need to decide on flowers - real or silk - dilemma at the mo!

  • Thought I'd update, I picked my bridesmaids dresses but they were £120 each!! Managed to find 3 on ebay and paid £119 in total for all 3! Very impressed! Got my flower girls dress from Tesco for £9!

I think I'm going with silk flowers, I've seen some lovely ones on ebay and total flower cost will be £70.

Booked the caterer for £2,000 including 3 course meal for 70 people with 2 choices for each course and a buffet for 70 and including hire of plates and cutlery.

I'm making my own invitations....unless I change my mind over Christmas!

Everything is finally coming together now :)

  • oh and I should say too, I'm joining the gym on Monday and they run a weight watchers style club on Wednesdays followed by bums & tums class, so fingers crossed for losing some weight before the wedding! Would like to lose a stone minimum.

good luck sales admin - I am doing mothing but put weight on at the moment and its not good:mad:

I'v been mostly buying makeup lately - I bought a bare esencuals starter pack for £45 quid - but now i've been using it for a week i don't think the colour this right :mad: not very mse.

I have ordered some mineral makeup samples that cater for black skin to see if they are any better, at least the starter pack had some decent brushes in - I think I continue to use the BE stuff for everyday till I've finished it - I ain't wasting that kinda money.

I've been thinking alot about the run up to the day and how all my baking will work - Everything is starting to feel so close, and although I have bought pretty much everything i'll need I can't help thinking Ive got huge amounts of stuff to do.

I also bought some spanx to try them out at the work christmas do - they are hard to get into but definatly work. I'll wait to see what my dress looks like with them on underneath before i look at corsets.

I'm really looking forward to Christmas this year - its my last one as a legally "single" lady - and could be my last drunken one too - depending on what happens next year!!

whats everybody else been up to?

Shelly I think you must be local to me!

We now have our ring cushion, some table crystals, thank you cards, and balloons. So things are coming together slowly. Not doing too much until January now though xx

  • I found some print your own invitation and reply slips at TKMaxx on the weekend... under £10 and they fit in with our relaxed country garden theme! I am not confident to print them myself so will be checking out our local printers to see what they will charge! Invitations were going to be home made but the beader in SA has let us down! grrrr

Not too bothered about the World Cup game. We get married at 2pm so hoping the game will be on then and I plan to remove the TV from the lounge (we will have reception in the back garden)... am OK with a radio playing at the reception but have put my foot down with regards to the TV!

Still need buttons for my dress but I also picked up a back up dress at a recent sample sale at work... not a typical wedding dress but will work if need be. Awaiting the spring/summer men's range at work - they have some great casual shoes and linen shirts for the men!

Getting excited now... and I have borrowed someone's signature about the wedding as I think it is stunning!!!
Well lets see - I dip in and out of MSE all the time but I still come back - have done since 2007!!!
