Hey everybody - I've still got loads to do. Invite went out last week and the first rsvps are trickling through.
It feels really weird like its really happening now as everybody at work is talking about booking hotels and the songs they want played.
Ive started making the sugar flowers for my cake the first spray is complete and I have 2 more to do - i'll post some pics up soon.
Most urgent n my list is booking an appointment ith the registrar - I'd rather talk face to face about the ceremony and our choices of vows etc - however I need to finish the music and reading choices before i can do that.Had a thrifty wedding 17-06-10

Hey everyone, I'm new here  and just wanted to add myself to this thread.
We got engaged this Feb and are getting married June 19th, so quite short notice and the wedding is ALL I can think about!
What I've done so far:
Bought my dress, just waiting to have alterations done.
Paid deposits on Bridesmaids dresses, having to be ordered in and won't arrive till May, then will have alterations.
Looked at suits, decided colours/style, OH not ordered them yet.
Booked registry office for 3pm and paid reservation fee, got to give notice this month.
Enquired about reception venue, not heard back yet.
Had a go at making some prototype wedding flowers, out of felt & buttons (looking good too!)
Bought my shoes, just need to wear them in as they're a bit tight!
Ordered stuff for making invitations, waiting for them to arrive.
Got fabric to make favour bags (someone else's old wedding dress, in true MSE style!):rotfl:
Bought some little tiny hearts to scatter on tables.
Booked a caterer and decided on food.
Written guest list.
Got a budget sorted - £3,000 (My dad paying a third of it)
Got a free marquee, tables & chairs.
Nearly decided on a cake (sister paying for it)
Umm......LOADS still to do, but making progress :T
Looking forward to joining in with the wedding madness!
Oh and if you'd like to read my blog it's at myweddingpanic .blogspot.com (not spamming! Just new so can't post proper links and thought someone might be interested, lol):heart2: Got engaged 14th Feb 2010 - Getting married June 19th 2010...Eeek! :heart2:0 -
Hello everyone, I'm new here too. I was looking for some ideas for my wedding in June and I thought I'd add to this thread too....
I'm getting married on June 26th and at the moment we seem to have everything in control. We are running a very tight ship at the moment due to us planning a major conversion to our house which will start just after we come home from the honeymoon.
I proposed to my OH on 7 March last year (she just reminded me of that!) and we have pretty much had it all under control since then. This has meant careful planning since the start (due to managing two events at the same time) and we rarely have a weekend to ourselves due to everything going on. We wouldn't have it any other way, my -soon to be- in-laws have been fantastic and they are growing our flowers for the wedding and taking control of the wedding list so thats one less job for us.
We just have to have a final meeting with our entertainment for the day and photographer in May, have our Hen and Stag do's, get the suits fitted, order the cake from M and S and it will be game on*. Simples! :j
Catch you all later
Paul
*There may be a couple of extra jobs but I can't remember everything, I'm the groom, therefore I'm useless!!!!0 -
Nearlymrsford.... we're 19th June too! And well done for getting everything done so quickly!! Took us over a year of planning to get that done!!:money:Trying to get debt-free:money:0

Hiya newbies - you are added to the list
NearlyMrsford - that timescale is amazing well done!Had a thrifty wedding 17-06-10

Hi fellow June brides! Another newbie on the scene - may I add another date to the list? We're getting married on the 21st June, which suddenly seems very close!
We're having quite a small wedding with 37 people, and then a much bigger weekend party a month later (just the way it worked out, long story), which is a combined wedding reception and leaving do. After that we're off round the world on motorcycles, so will see if we can make that the world's longest honeymoon. :j
Wedding itself is pretty much sorted, the main things left to decide on are music for the ceremony, flowers and wedding rings. Oh, and material for my gorgeous fiance's outfit as the one he originally chose is no longer available, doh!
Funny to read that it's traditional to send out invites 3 months before - we thought we were being a bit crap about only just getting that done, and it sounds like we accidentally got it just right!
It's the party that has the most to sort out, mainly hiring a marquee that's not going to cost several arms and legs. Had hoped to use the venue's marquees, but it turns out they're smaller than we'd thought - their big one was wrecked in storms a couple of years ago. All good fun...0
