Speed camera and insurance question

I got done by a speed camera last night, driving back from B and Q. The problem is I was driving my girlfriend's 4 x 4 as I couldn't fit a whole bath into my boot.
We're both fully comp but I'm not a named driver on her insurance policy so, basically, can I come clean and take the hit regarding fine and points or do I have to pretend that it was her driving, to avoid any insurance complications?
I'd appreciate any help or advice, before the dreaded envelope drops on her doormat. Thanks.

You are talking about someone you are suppose to love.
No need to say any more.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

normally they just end through the fine to the registered keeper then they put your name on the form and send it off. Then the fine comes through in your name which you pay and send off you licence for the bonus 3 points0

Most fully comp policies allow you to drive another vehicle 3rd party, But you will have to check your policy to be sure.
As has been said though, Your fault, own up.War does not decide who is right, It decides who is left.0 -
Have you checked your own comprehensive insurance? It may well cover you to drive a car not owned by you on 3rd party (legal requirement) risk. Some don't - but many do.0

She will get the ticket as the registered keeper then she has to fill in the section on the form to name the driver and their address if it was not her.If she takes the hit for you she can face prison as you may show up on the speed camera.0

in most cases if you both fully comp then you should be ok and covered 3rd party only0

You may not hear anything more of it.
What kind of camera was it? Rear facing or full frontal?
If rear then won't be able to see who was driving at the time so if the form comes and your girlfriend takes the hit to save your bacon they wouldn't be able to tell from the picture it was a bloke behind the wheel.
Regarding insurance, speeding offenses like this are all too common and the premium will probably be hardly affected, depends on her age though young drivers will see a hike.
Having said that, you're both in error, 1 you driving the vehicle, 2 your GF letting you drive the vehicle - presumably in the knowledge you were not insured. (depending on your own policy)0 -
I'm fairly sure most comprehensive policies that include any vehicle 3rd party specifically exclude driving a spouse's/partner's car from this. Whether you would fall into this category or not I am not sure.0
