Are you talking about the second world war? I think they'd stopped using cavalry, you know, ess0two, they used tanks and things.0

You stated that Russia and Germany had agreed to carve up Poland prior to WWII as if they having done so meant that Britain had no choice in what happened to Poland at the end of WWII.
But then Germany had no intention of keeping to its agreement with Russia. (Russia invaded Poland prior to entering the war in 1941).
I'm not passing comment. Just historical fact.0 -

I have noticed with you, you often use the Chewbacca defence and leave us scratching our heads
BTW what had Dunkirk got to do with whether we assisted Poland or not

That's understandable. I'd do the same. I'm just very pleased that this country finally did something for Poland after allegedly going to war in 1939 over their loss of freedom and then sitting by when the Russians moved in for 45 years. Some of the debt repaid, if you like.
I know a young Polish plumber and his Polish wife who are still here and likely to remain until the work dries up (if ever). It is no wonder that Polish plumbers etc are so sought after - he was telling me that he trained for five years to be a plumber (and all the related skills) and then did another five years studying construction (if I understood what he was saying). I was very impressed by the work he did installing a new kitchen sink and plumbing in a new washing machine and moving an electric socket. A British plumber is usually a one-trick pony and probably learned that trick on day-release.YouGov: £50 and £50 and £5 Amazon voucher received;
