Its not that I'm not sympathetic I just find it hard to empathise with the way you are feeling because as far as I can remember I've never felt that way - I think I'm a bit odd like that...:o:o

You are a youngster, its good that you have never had to feel that way. I didn't until I had my first child. I was 'sympathetic' with people when they had miscarriages till I had one myself and then realised I had no idea what people were really going through.

    You aren't odd btw....well not much..:D

Sammy, I wasn't about last night but I'm sorry you're feeling down, hope the doctor can help you.

    Thanks

Sammy, make sure you get to the doctors hon. I'll be thinking of you.

I have been. My dctors are very good. I have scored 16 on the scale (moderate depression) I have anti d's and she is refering me for counselling as she thinks this stems from all the stress of losing my job as a high flying career woman four years ago....she may be right!

She thinks the anti d's will kick start me back into taking pleasure at doing stuff for myself like running...:T

    How do they scale depression?

they ask you questions like are you under/over eating?

    Are you lacking in energy?

Do you wake up in the night/fall asleep randomly or have trouble staying asleep?

the only one I couldn't answer was the last one, are you having suicidal thoughts....I thought it only fair to mention that I didn't want to kill myself - just other people.....:rotfl:

Wow, your doctor sounds good Sammy, all too often they just throw tablets at you, it's great that she's organising counselling too, I hope it works.

I wish I hadn't read back over last night's thread, I've just joined the Hotel Chocoalt thing!
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

they provide an excellent service Ames...when I had PND they had me under psychiatric care and had a nurse visit me every week. I had counselling then. They have a counsellor connected to the surgery so its easy to arrange....

Your doctor does sound good Sammy, hope the tablets help.

Is wanting to kill people a symptom of depression?

I have just dumped someone :o would have told them in person but can't speak so have had to send them a message. Cute but there is a serious lack of spark, and I've found myself avoiding him because our conversations bore me.

He seemed very keen too - story of my life.

I'm sitting here with the heating on full blast wearing a coat and a scarf...cold not REALLY improving then!

No its not a symptom more a side effect...I am quite placid normally - honestly I am! It takes a lot to wind me up normally. But lately I just feel like punching someone...no one in particular but I would give me a wide berth just lately.

I am sure he will get over it Snags...:rotfl:;)
