Ok here's my pledge to myself:
No chocolate for at least two weeks.
Crisps only with meals and not daily!
If I need snacks or sweet stuff then it's fruit, jelly, yoghurt or a granola bar.
Proper meals in the evenings.
Puddings only on Friday and Saturday evenings.
My treat is a takeaway on a Saturday night but mustn't be stupid.
All starts tomorrow.
Off to bed now. Night all. Tomorrow is another day - and will be fab!Life is all about the journey.0 -
Chicken breast wrapped in a slice of bacon and half a sweet potato with mixed veg in the steamer is a quick and easy and pretty tasty meal.Avon Rep as of 05/10/10

this was posted on another site and its got some great tips that may help for weightloss:
Only two things can help you lose weight: Eating less and exercising more.
Diets and slimming clubs can help with your motivation but if you have the motivation already you can probably do without them.
The figures you need to know.
A sedentary man needs about 2000 calories per day to maintain his weight.
A sedentary woman needs about 1500 calories per day to maintain her weight.
Eat more than this and you will remain heavier, less and you remain lighter.
This is what you should aim for and if you do you will gradually reach your optimum weight.
How do you speed up the weight loss?
If you run for an hour you will burn about 600 calories
If you cycle for an hour you will burn about 500 calories
If you walk for an hour you will burn about 350 calories
If you swim for an hour you will burn about 300 calories
If you do these fast (and get your heart rate up and get a bit sweaty) the calories burned increases to 800, 600,450 and 500 respectively.
Fast weight loss is not good for you and it will leave you with amongst other things, baggy skin (not a great look). Be careful not to over do things exercise wise too because that can be bad for you too.
If you want to stay the same weight, either before or after you reach your desired weight you need to eat, roughly, the calories outlined above. So if you want to stay at the weight you reach you'll probably need to change your habits permanently.
What should you do then?
First thing I would do is get smaller plates at home. This makes reducing portion size much easier.
Second, I would start doing more exercise than I do now. Start with an increase of your favourite exercise (from above) by 1 hour a week (but 1 hour at a time not 2x30 mins or 4x15 mins) and increase by 1 hour a week over the next 6 to 12 weeks until you are doing an extra 6 hours a week (say 1 hour, 6 days a week?)
Now for the good part: It is essential, if you want to lose weight that you eat or drink something to the value of the calories just burned within 1 hour of your exercise. What I mean here is that if you walk fast for 1 hour, for example, you should eat or drink 450 calories straight after. (By doing this you keep your metabolism high, if you don't then your metabolism will fall and the benefits will be less)
Don't skip this part. You must eat after you have exercised. Don't worry; you will still lose weight, if you just replace the calories burned.
This also means that whenever you want extra calories (snacks, drinks, treats, cheats or whatever) you can have them. Just do the exercise first.
Another good part: Once you are in the habit of 1 hour of exercise (think of it as 'me' time) you won't want to go back to not doing it. (Exercise releases endorphins, which make you feel good.) And after exercise chocolate is allowed (and even encouraged) as a welcome reward for your efforts.
There are no restrictions to what you eat. Anything is allowed, even junk food, but my tip is that you can eat more fruit and veg per calorie than you can fat, protein and carbohydrates. Just keep the to the calories out lined above.
If you want to join a club, a swimming, cycling or running club is probably more beneficial than a slimming club and will be cheaper and more enjoyable after you reach the weight you are happy with.0 -
