I know it sounds strange but once you start, don't weigh yourself at all. That way you won't be put off if you gain a pound or two for no reason. It's much more important to look at the bigger picture rather than going on a week to week basis. Thanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

The dates for the bike tours of america we want to do are out for 2011.
Need money. About £7k for both of us to go and make the most of all the excursions etc.
We look at the dates every year... every year we can't afford it - one of those things we've both wanted to do for years and years. Would be such an amazing trip.

Ok, sounds like a plan... I weighed myself this morning so have a record of my starting point... bring it on!Life is all about the journey.0 -

That way you can concentrate about feeling good about yourself. You'll know if you've lost weight because your clothes will feel loose.
I can't stress how important the exercise is as well. I don't mean pounding away for hours on end at the gym but just walking the dog or something. Not just good for calorie burning but also makes you feel like you're doing something positive.
Best of luck :T:T:TThanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

Ok so the scales are banned.
Exercise is really important to me. I used to be very fit a few years ago and am not totally unfit now but I'm not like I used to be. I've signed up to my 4th 10k road race in March so that should get me off my bum - just 6 weeks away now! Planning to jog lots... no time as out tonight so tomorrow after work.Life is all about the journey.0 -
