when you say yep but no go, could you elaborate, do you mean it is installed, and visible in device manager, without any obvious errors?
is tcp/ip installed now, and pinging? you may need to do the winipcfg release and renew
the 3c920 is backwards compatible with other 3c90x's (I think - 3coms numbering system does my head in sometimes, they are all similar numbers)
Is the numbered light on on the router 1,2,3,4 ?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

robnye wrote:yep, but no go..... the dell website says it has a 3c920, but i cant find the drivers for it.
I have checked the socket where the cable goes in and it is orange...... i know it should be green.
any ideas how i can check to see if it is working ? (apart from control panel)
Does this help?0 -
Try godders suggestion.
If it is enabled in the bios, it should either show as an unknown, working, or non-working (question, exclamation mark, or red cross) device, in device manager. If it is a question mark, delete it, and refresh.
Try add new hardware if nothing at all is showing.
