And nobody's answered my question as to why not mash up all your food.
The reason no-one has answered is because we're all happy to just accept that there are certain foods you mash and certain ones you dont. It's just the way it is. Stop over analysing things, you have too much time on your hands.Herman - MP for all!0 -
If mashing them isn’t your passion
Then simply hand over your ration
I’ll swop you some sprouts
Or this bowl of sauerkraut
But don’t come on here just to trash ‘emMy message to that greedy wunch of bankers:
Debts another fine mess you got us into!
If you see somone who hasn't got a smile, give them one of yours.0 -

This thread is not about money saving at all. It would be better off in the Arms where I'm sure there are plenty of people who will be only too happy to humour the OP.0

Mash is the best thingto do with potatoes...plenty of salt and pepper and a big knob of butter
Hubby bought me a mouli last week and they are so easy to make now
And as for why don't we mash all our food...a meal should be about different textures and flavours complimenting each other0 -
And nobody's answered my question as to why not mash up all your food.
Because liking one type of food done one way does not mean we like all food done that way.
I like chips, but don't deep fry everything I eat.
I like ice cream, but don't freeze all my food before eating it.
I like salads, but don't like all food raw.0 -
I loved Justcoll's limerick.:rotfl:Mashed potatoes made with mascarpone instead of butter/milk is a revelation!:drool:We're having bangers and mash for tea tonight, nom nom.
Mash is great when I have one of my bumper crops of mouth ulcers, as I can eat it without too much pain. We usually add a little salt, a good dose of black pepper, butter, and a splodge of cream. Depending on the dish/our mood,we might add garlic or grated cheese. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I could post on here and say what's the point of celery? or seafood? or avocado? or all the other things that I don't like?
if I don't like something I just don't eat it, I don't feel it necessary to publicly discount it as worthless
Jolly good point there, rosieben. I'm off work poorly and have been watching lots of old Come Dine with Me on the laptop in bed - it drives me mad when people pull faces and give a low score because they don't like prawns/goat cheese/whatever - that's one of the many reasons I wouldn't go on the programme (along with not wanting people rooting through my wardrobe/not wanting TV cameras in my home/not wanting to be on TV etc etc etc).
Vent over. I'm grumpy and poorly, just ignore me.0 -
Oh my. Mashed potatoes are IT! Lovely with milk and butter (real butter not marg) or even with mayonnaise. Mashed tats with chicken soup poured over is good too.
I love mashed potatoes.
OK, I love mashed spuds as much as the next person but that is just weird! LOL :rotfl:Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs
