Mash is so useful as well as miracle food....and it's cheap.
With left over mash I :-
add fish to make fishcakes ...coated with breadcrumbs and parsley sauce
add curry powder or spices and fry in breadcrumbs for a late night snack
use as topping for cheese and onion pie, fish pie, cottage pie ..and many others similar.
thicken soup
thicken cheese sauce
frustrate the cats because cats don't like mash no matter how hard they beg
What can you do with a left over chip or roastie? :rotfl:

I love mashed potato but can't abide lumps however small. I used to spend so long bashing them with a masher that they'd be cold by the time they were done..... then some genius invented the potato ricer. Effortless mashing and perfect results. Yum!My message to that greedy wunch of bankers:
Debts another fine mess you got us into!

bit of a pointless thread really, I could post on here and say what's the point of celery? or seafood? or avocado? or all the other things that I don't like?
The difference here is that this seems to be to be a case of going to quite a bit of effort to make something worse. It seems bizarre to me.
I don't eat mashed potatoes very often as you can guess. But I had some prepared by a French chef on a yacht a while ago and my mother has always made them. I always feel like saying not to bother next time.
They only taste a little bit soapy to me.
And nobody's answered my question as to why not mash up all your food.0 -
I like all types of potatoes, but love mash especially with gravy. Got a potato ricer and makes the creamiest mash ever - devine! To love and be loved is the greatest happiness of existance - Sydney Smith0
