We love mash in our house, made with potatoes (of course!), butter and milk.
DS (aged 2) loves them and it is a good way to get extra calcium and or fat into a toddlers diet too.
Each to their own surely ?

The many points of mashed potato are: sausages, top of fish pie and shepherd's pie, sticky beef stew on a cold night, and with an egg cracked in and cooked for an ailing child.

but you do have to be able to make decent mash, with the right potatoes, seasoning, butter and milk and a lot of beating to make it fluffy (I use an electric hand-whisk).

    I could live off it.

I want to try that, it sounds lovely. :D

    I've never bought mascarpone I dont think....where would I find it? :o

Mascarpone is a soft (cream) cheese so you should find it with the cream cheeses in the supermarket in a tub. Doesn't take at all cheesy - lovely, smooth, velvety and rich. It's also great in pasta sauces, desserts, etc.

 I said spuds not suds. Anyways I'm having fish beans and mashed potatoes tonight. Any left overs will be made into rubble and eek.;)

Well all I can add is boiled potatoes are just plain boring. I only boil the spuds so that I can mash them :D

I can only think OP is eating someone elses pants cooking or isn't eating them with plenty of proper butter.
