when you downloaded the songs, you should have been given the option to buy with your 10 'credits' or to pay the £6.49...I think, judging by your situation, you have done the latter"Who throws a shoe, honestly?"

Hi guys,
Provided you followed the instructions: clicked the 'one month subscription' box, the first screen came up as £0 plus you opted to use your credits to pay for the album your card should not have been charged.
If you've done all that and you've still been charged please PM me with your username and account details and I will try and look into it.

The downloader only works with Windows or Mac's. Bad luck if you are sensible and run a Linux system
You can still use it if you have Linux but you need to get "under the bonnet" a bit. If you choose to download a song and say that you have the downloader software installed it will download a .SKS file. If you open the file with a text editor inside you'll see a link to the MP3 file.
It looks like the streaming player doesn't work though.0 -
I can download the songs - I think, but am unable to open the Sky Downloader application.
When I try to run it, nothing happens, apart form this log being created in a folder tucked away somewhere.
A copy is below - any clues how to fix, or is it a case of nothing lost (apart from a bit of time?)
I've emailled Sky, but I'm not holding my breath for a speedy response...

Looks like you don't have a 'My Music' folder which should be in 'My Documents'
Go into My Documents and make a new folder called 'My Music' and I imagine this would solve the problem.0 -
Thanks for letting us know about this guys. We have tracked this bug down and have corrected the problem that was causing this message to appear for a very small number of users within the UK. The site is having a full update this Thursday (26th) and this correction will be made then. Please come back and try again on Thurs and it should work. Your code will still work then.
Adam, Guess you're something to do with Sky Songs, but I haven't trawled back through all the previous posts on this thread. Any news on the other issue I raised? I can't install the Sky Songs Downloader software as it needs Mac OS X 10.5 and my machine (5 year old PowerBook) will only run up to OS X 10.4.11 (which I have). Really we need a copy of the Downloader that will work with older versions.
I tried emailing Sky Songs direct, but just got a dismissive email reply saying I should contact Apple - not much use really as they're hardly likely to either write the compatible version for Sky or supply me with a new computer for free!0 -
Hello, sorry but I'm new to all this, how do we contact you to give you our personal details to try to get the refund?MSE_Archna wrote: »Hi guys,

So I signed up. Reasonably easy, except it needed a credit card (why - it didn't charge it, but required one anyhow even on the one month only option).
However their Mac support is best described as crap. The downloader fails to install correctly. It then doesn't appear to pick up tracks correctly. Ordering an album caused the browser window to hang (other sessions within browser OK, but they do some fancy overlay of a darker pane over the window and hung it). It counted that as a successful purchase/download but didn't download a thing to my system.
Sending a request to their help contact address results in you being ignored - no response at all.
Finally managed to "re"-download the album (which had never been downloaded in the first place) a couple of days later. Needed quite a lot of manual help and babysitting.
What they can do well is spam you. At least one email per day - sometimes two in half an hour. And they take no notice of requests to stop or their unsubscribe link.
So its a typical Sky service - lots of flash, works like crap, will sell you anything they can and won't shut up.0 -
