Cat Litter - It's a minefield! - What do you buy?

A £1 a week would help big time, thanks! I shall give a 10l Oko a try and see how it goes.
Googling 'chick crumb' leads you to some poultry forums, where they're quite perplexed at us crazy cat owners using it for litter..:rotfl:0 -
I prefer the wood based pellets,15L bag from P@H costs around a fiver & last's Daisy the Cat about a month.I find it less smelly &, if you put the tray in a larger card box, like the one the cabbages come in at Lidl's & lined with newspaper, then not only will it keep the dust & mess the cat makes when exiting the litter tray inside the cardboard box,the cat can also clean her claws on the cardboard box & not on the furniture.
Oh that is such a clever yet obvious (just not to me before now) idea :j Just need to dig the car out of the snow and go shopping to hunt for a cardboard box
We have 2 kittens and 2 trays and have been experimenting with different litters, not found any I am completely satisfied with as yet, even with the clumping litter I still end up emptying it all out and cleaning the tray and replacing all the litter every 2 - 3 days :eek:Lucky wins: The Resident book, Open Season box set & portable DVD player, return flights to Belfast & £100 Ticketmaster, Ringo Starr tickets, L'Oreal gift bag, K-Swiss T-Shirt, Converse Allstars, Parker Pen, Large wash, iron and fold service Johnson Dry Cleaners, Viva La Juicy perfume Juicy Couture, ring and body lotion gift set,0 -

I get mine from Lidl's,they're what the cabbages come in & they last an age, they also give puss something to clean their claws on.I just cut the front down a bit cuz Daisy has short legs....0 -
I have 1 cat and have found the 30l sack of wood pellets from pets at home to be the best for me because I have asthma. It also lasts me a long time and I haven't noticed any tracking
Wife and mother :jGrocery budget
April week 1 - £42.78 | week 2 - £53.0524lbs in 12 weeks 15/240 -
I use the large cardboard box idea, and tesco value litter. Now if only the two youngest cats would copy the older one and blimmin' well do their business outside I would no longer have a problem!0
