The Bankrupt Inn (part 4) New and Improved

Well - it hasn't been a bad Christmas and I was touched by the following article in our local paper:
"In October, a 76 year old widow was robbed of her Christmas 'savings' of £400.
Desperate not to lose everything, she decided to write a letter to Santa, in which she explained what had happened, and that she would, now, be unable to buy any presents for her six grandchildren, who, themselves, had endured a particularly 'lean' year due to their father's redundancy and the credit crunch, leading to their house being 're-possessed'.
She posted the letter addressed to 'Santa Claus' - Lapland.
Now, as most of us know - and for those who don't, I am sorry to 'shatter the myth'- all such letters are opened by the Post Office and a 'Standard Reply' is normally sent out to the poster.
In this case, however, so touched was the postal worker, who opened the letter, that he immediately organised a collection for the old dear. This collection soon raised £380, which he put into a special 'Santa' envelope, and sent to the old lady along with 'Santa's Best Wishes'.
So amazed was the old widow, that she wrote a letter of thanks to Santa, stating:
I can not tell you how grateful I was that you took the trouble to reply to my earlier letter, and I would like to thank you for sending me the cash that ensured that my grandchildren had a Christmas to remember.
PS - I thought I'd better let you know that the money was £20 short - probably nicked by those thieving bu**ers at the Post Office."
Apologies to anyone who has already heard it, but it did make me chuckle.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
