Just called up and cleared my TV loan :) I'm sooo happy. I know it was my smallest debt but it's one more thing not comming out of my bank every month.

Well done to everyone else. I'm a bit in aw of how well some of you are doing!

Congrats! It feels good even when the small ones go, because it feels like progress! :)

Still a bit of room for improvement.. not quite as high as last few months but can see a few additional expenses.

We had to pay for new lenses for OH glasses £70 (cheaper than new ones, prescription changed), and finally got some of our photos framed (£40), and paid for our National Trust membership which we got as our Xmas present to ourselves this year. Hoping will get a good amount of use out of it!;)

    and I have started paying £80 a month into a pension!:T

Cheers Loumac, although I can't help but be disappointed with myself.

Congrats on upcoming wedding, feel free to tell us about it:T, I'm recently married and love hearing about all things wedding related. Any thoughts on where you might go on honeymoon?

We got married last Oct but as I'm a school teacher our life revolves around school holidays and fitting the wedding into half term was enough so no time for honeymoon. We were hoping to go away at Easter but having saved enough yet so maybe Oct this year as a one year anniversary honeymoon! Not sure where yet...I quite fancy Morrocco?!?
Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...
  • Hello everyone, I didn't think I'd get chance to post today but after spending so much yesterday going to watch the rugby I've grounded myself. :o

Anyway, I've just updated my finance spreadsheet and so my Feb numbers are complete. I started the month on £18,165 in debt and decided to completely skip the 17,000's and go straight to £16,540 - a total of £1,625 repaid. Most of that was due to selling some shares that I had built up but I'm very pleased with my progress overall despite having a bad month and completely overspending my budget.

But tomorrow is a new month and with it comes new money saving and earning opportunities. Would love to break the £15k barrier if things go my way and I show a bit more discipline.
Got my head out of the sand - 01/01/2010

  • Hello everyone. I've just updated my totals. This month I've managed to pay off £712.36.

Its not as much as I'd hoped, but I've been to watch the rugby in Cardiff twice (just got home this afternoon, and the first thing I've done is update my totals...:rotfl:) We're also going again in March to the Italy game.

I gave my cc to my OH for safekeeping, just to avoid temptation.

Tomorrow, I have the day off, so my plan is to ebay anything that isn't nailed down..........I'd really like to pay my OH back as soon as possible!

    Everyone's doing really well :T
