    Afternoon!

Celyn, I love them! I am so gonna be busy making them tomorrow! Kids will love them too, just need to hunt out my gingerbread man cutter! Like the little silver balls and the fimo ones with the death stars too!

Sarah - oops about the dogs!

All shopping done, don't know what the persil and passata bargains were as I didn't write them down and couldn't find them, perhaps they've been and gone! Did find 3 Chrimbo pressies though, a game for dd3 for the wii - involves air guitar to assorted pop hits, the Zac Ephron 17 Again film, priced at £5, other copies were £12.99, and some heart shaped reusable hand warmers for 99p in Lidl.

Need to do a pressie stock take at the end of the week, so I can ensure that kids all have the same amount roughly! Have got most of the stuff they asked for, just need to get the big stuff come payday - hooray for overtime! Nice thing about using overtime money for it is that money saved for Christmas can go into house fund - new kitchen floor is desperate and kids bathroom needs doing as well!

Gonna have a cuppa and then a browse and see if I can find any more online bits for ds. He's always tough as it's his birthday just after Christmas as well.

OS stuff has mostly been done for the day, just a bit of washing to hang when wm finishes and another load to go in!

I've just had the most delicious lunch :D
Popped to a farm shop called Hillers (for those of you who know where Ragley Hall is will probably know it's near there) and bought some reduced bread rolls and a reduced packet of tomato and pork sausage. Cooked in the oven and then put in the cobs with loads of onion marmalade that my mum bought from there too (the second jar as DD managed to smash the first one which we had to pay for ).
they were lovely big sausages and the onion marmalade was lovely - me and my mum now want to have a go at making our own :D

Heard this morning that a friend and her H are separating. Not suprised but it's still a shame notheless :(

My FIL is now home and recovering. From what my H has been told the driver of the car lost control, rolled it and whilst it was rolling it clipped my FIL. Police are going to speak to H this afternoon and fill in the blanks hopefully.

Lillibet - hope you are feeling better soon xx

Celyn - those mushrooms are fab (not that I like or eat them :o but what biggun's!!!) You're very brave to eat stuff like that - I wouldn't trust my own judgment :o What are amanatopsis? Sounds like a bad rash :rotfl:

Sarah - norty little pups getting jiggy with it :rotfl:

Candygirl - hope your ex FIL is OK with his lump. Hope the SAD doesn't get too bad for you xx

    Afternoon all.

I haven't caught up with the weekend threads, so hope everyone's OK, and all the poorlies on the mend.

Vastsarah, I may just make plans to kidnap those woofers. They're so sweet! Your comment about Charlie standing on the Yellow Pages reminded me of a Terry Pratchett character - Casanunder, a dwarf with a stepladder.:rotfl:

I'm afraid I ran out of both time and energy yesterday, so have been making bread rolls and carrot & orange cake today, both of which should have been done yesterday. I was even too exhausted to attend the talk on the Wheel of the Year yesterday evening, which I'd been looking forward to for a month!:( Specially annoying as I'd turfed out a bagful of books to take for the bring'n'buy table - so they'll be kicking around now til mid January.

Everything's taking forever today, too; I cut my hand on the mini-guillotine this morning, bled like a stuck pig. It's not a big cut, but quite deep and hurts like bu88ery. So I'm having to do stuff one-handed, to try and stop it opening up yet again.

Anyway, I think we might just have jacket spuds tonight - there are two H-U-G-E potatoes in the basket that are just crying out to be "jacketed".

Happy Monday all, and ((((HUGS)))) for all who want/need one today.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

They are a species which are edible (sorry I spelt it wrong earlier) - very common but look just a little too like ones which are *really* evil for me to contemplate eating them :) We thought they were Amanitopsis vaginata - 95 % sure, but not 100 % - so they stayed in the field. Normally you wouldn't get death caps on that sort of ground as they like trees (but you do have to be wary of where the tree line is, so it's not always a good indicator) and they tend to have a ring (which the others didn't, but then poor weather can wash away stuff like that), but even so I'm not risking eating a lookish-a-like and will leave them alone. There were loads though :) They aren't a recommended hunting target because they are difficult to identify and the consequences of that particular error could be fatal. The others are fine though :)

We found some very young shaggy parasols too - I don't like these (but OH will eat them) - they are fine dehydrated and ground to a powder for stews and soups. I had some blewitts for dinner last night and I'm still here :D

Sarah, what lovely pups, I may go in cahoots with lame wolf and kidnap them, we could have one each :T, I love the video of the pup winding the cat up too :rotfl:

Have has a busy morning, tidied, cleaned and hoovered house apart from dd's room, (she can do that herself), mopped floors. Got three loads of washing dry on the line, ive just got it in quick as the sky has come over really dark again.

Prepared a lamb curry for oh and I tonight and a quorn one for dd, will shove them in the oven later, and made a banana loaf with the last few bananas in the freezer.

Spent an hour in the garden, tidying, and have filled the garden re-cycling bin again ( I bet the men hate me when they come to empty it :o its always full to the top, I can hardly move it :o:o)

I have also picked the final 15 peppers from my plants, which were the last ones, and another 8 chillis, I still have 5 plants smothered in chillis, so will keep them going for a while.

Bitsy hope your fil makes a good recovery xx

Lilibet, can you put a photo of the new pup on here ?? i hope you feel better soon xx

Celyn, you are sooooo talented, we often see mushrooms while out walking, but apart from a death cap and a puffball I cannot recognise any, and i would not be brave enough to eat them anyway.

Going to have a cuppa now before collecting dd.

    Have fun all.

    Morning all:hello:
kitchen as am having the new one fitted next week, can't believe how unmotivated I feel, it's the SAD syndrome kicking in again I fear:(

Candygirl, did you get diagnosed with your SAD? There isn't a whole lot of treatment out there, but I have found things easier since I was officially diagnosed. Do you use a SAD lamp? If you want to PM me I can point you in the direction of a few things.

Bargain bird I made really yummy date and banana loaf with black bananas from the freezer. they're ripe and very sweet.
