If, as you say, your dad has his pension and DLA then HE can afford to pay for the removal surely.
THE HOUSE IS NOT IN YOUR NAME, YOU ARE NOT LIABLE FOR IT.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Fine, as long as you dont mind wasting your time being negative and unproductive.
I just hope youre never in the position where you to have to ask for help when your desperate and some w""""er comes along, kicks you in the wotists and then says 'oh it was no bother'
I'm never violent. If I'd kicked someone in the wotists (??) I'd remember.
What I did do was say: "No wonder my council tax is so bl**d* expensive!"
A sentiment quite a few other posters seem to share. It's a viewpoint. You can agree or not with the rights or wrongs of council-tax payers paying to clear council tenants' junk (sorry - valuable saleable possessions) from abandoned houses.0 -
If the OP and her husband cannot or will not clear the property then the poor father will be getting the bill and if the place isn't in good decorative order he will be charged for that as well. I wouldn't do that to my dear old Dad but we're all different, it appears.0

But alas you seem to have luxuries. Why should the council tax payer fund the clearance of your fathers house?0 -

TBH, it doesn't sound like the Dad would know much about it.0 -
