That's kind of what I thought... the woman I'm dealing with doesn't seem too hot on customer service (more the kind of person who thinks I should have what she suggests, and be available for the work to be done at her convenience), but when I push back, she usually calls back with an alternative (so I think her boss probably tells her that he wants the work!). If she hadn't insisted on quoting me for things I didn't want, we wouldn't have had the delay anyway, as I'm getting exactly what I told them I wanted from the outset!.

You're supposed to be resting, and if you're at home all day resting, then you're going to need to have the heating on during the day, even if it's just in the rooms you're using and only on low. You can't afford to let yourself get cold, and you shouldn't be doing stuff (except maybe reading trashy novels or watching DVDs). Housework isn't rest.

So sorry, Poohbear. But you did the right thing xxx
I'm just sitting down briefly for a (delayed) cup of coffee. I've decluttered some left-over puff pastry from the fridge and made apple puffs for tea. (Not sure they really go with currybut ....).
I've also cleaned the hob and done the chopping boards/wooden washing up which won't go in the d/w. And I've cleared the surfaces.
Ready to wipe the fridge next, then that might have to be it for today. I'll see what I can do in my next HHC, starting at 3:30-4:00pm if anyone is wanting to join in. Meanwhile I'm going to pay a few bills.

Hello!
Well I was very lucky as there happened to be an eye specialist at my GP's so he had a look at my eye. I've scratched the cornea quite badly and it's going to be painful for a while but it will repair itself with the help of some drops! They've put a patch over it. I look so fab! I'm wondering if I can customise the patch for the dinner dance. Oh well, at least it will get people talking to me as I don't know many people who are going (not that I have a difficulty talking to people!!):rotfl:. I'm so lucky he was doing clinic though otherwise it would have been a good few hours at the eye hospital and I've got parents evening, taxi driving and work!
I've managed to get my mum to do her thorntons shopping....her on the phone and me on the computer. She ordered £50 of stuff so got the £50 hamper. I've left her repeating....'I don't believe it, is it really free?' She doesn't have quidco so I just had to put it through mine :rotfl:. Time to call in some favours me thinks then i'll come back and do my list xx
Right 15 minutes of peace then the children come home....oh gawd.....how can I drive with this patch on:eek:0 -

Golly Mudbath !!!
I don't suppose it's a fancy dress dinner dance....? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
No, didn't think so.
Well, you could always take one of those elegant 'masked ball' eye shield things on a sequinned stick and hold it up to your face all evening????? Bit like this, but you'll need to colour co-ordinate.....
