  • Hi ladies...

Valli - Well done on your assessment
Soappie - hope your ankle is feeling better
Jinky - you must have nearly finished the packing by now?
LadyL - hugs hon - check your phone, you have a text.. xx

Was going to just check in and say hi while I ate some apple cake and couldn't help but notice someone way back thattaway <
on the thread was asking about using apples. We just picked half a doz from our crab apple tree this morning so I baked my fave apple cake.. (and made a crumble to keep my OH happy).

This recipe was given to me by my actual Aunty Sally. She never added ANY spices and it's still nice but I always add them and of course I think it's better.:rotfl:

    Aunt Sallys Apple Cake

This is ridiculously easy to make!

    8oz self raising flour
    4oz marg or butter
    4oz castor sugar
    8oz roughly chopped apples
    4oz saltanas
juice of half a lemon (soak the apples in this once chopped)
    2 med-large eggs
    2 tsp cinnamon

    1/2 tsp ginger
    • Mix flour and marg til it resembles breadcrumbs.
    • Add all other ingredients
    • Let sit for 5 mins
    • Grease tin
    • Place in tin (push up bottom type if available but not vital)
    • Cook at 180 degrees Gas mark 4 for 1 - 1 1/4 hrs or til a knife pulls out cleanly
Delicious hot as a pudding with custard (or clotted cream.. yumyumyum) or cold as a deliciously moist cake

    Diva. x

    Strikes

They are HTML code so you can't paste them into word doc then back over, you will need to restrike or copy & paste your list including the code ie [strike before with the closing bracket [/strike after also including the close bracket as far as I am aware. IIRC they work on wordpad.

    Thanks

Fedupandskint - lovely to hear you so positive! You're doing fab girl!!!!!
Diva - now i've added Diva's Aunt Sally's Apple Cake to my recipe document - bit of a mouth full that (sounds lovely!!).

I've just moved DD's wardrobe (stupid I know). As I was moving it I was looking up to make sure nothing fell off it (what I thought was soft toys piled on it). Anyway, it wasn't just soft toys which I found out when a large, toy car fell and hit me on the eye. I have a lovely cut just below my eyebrow and a blood blister below that....and there's me going to a dinner dance on Saturday.

Sometimes you just have to laugh!

Just going to declutter dinner stuff (just had a sandwich and couldn't be bothered cooking). I'm going to have healing, medicinal ice cream now!

    Ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! xx

huge hugs Mudbath, I remember trying to put DD's chest of drawers between the wall and wardrobe.....realising it wasn't going to fit, tried to pull it back out( of course, me being me was to lazy to empty/ take out the drawers....or take all stuff from top!!).....No it was stuck, fell foreward, catching my leg...I was ok, but 1 drawer broke and a couple of christening gifts that were on top of the chest.....lesson learned........take out the drawers or leave the furniture alone!!!

Hope you will be able to cover up with some make up xx
