I was fine first thing but went to speak to SENCO at school having cancelled meeting last week when DS was off. She never got the message that I cancelled and is clearly in the huff with me and said she has no time this week or next and flounced off saying she would have to check her diary. It anoys me cos school think its a good idea to leave Yr 6's in charge of the office (and security and phone ....) at lunchtime
Responsibiity yadda yadda but no use if they dont pass on the right message.
Think you will just have to do a bit of 'smoothing' when you do get the app.
"I am really sorry there was a mix-up... I phoned at (time) on (date) and left a message...I assumed it would be passed on ... I really value your support with DS and would not dream of just not turning up for a meeting ... etc"
OK it was not your fault, but she will know that and hopefully a few soft words will get her back on your side.0 -
Want to come and help when you're feeling better
???
Irritatingly the topsoil is now pretty good, as I've spent 10 years digging in chicken poo, sand, grit, compost and bark - but I'll probably lose most of it and have to start again . However, I also noticed that since I last cleared it out and did the whole lot, it's managed to fill up with bindweed roots, weeds and general rubbish, so it needs doing anyway. I have friends who empty a bed each year to clean it out, but I'm not that organised or energetic. I do enjoy digging though(remind me in March... I'll have forgotten by then).
I plan to have a proper composting system as part of the new design - with food waste composting as well as garden waste, and to have the bins somewhere with enough light to get them hot so that the compost takes less than three years to mature...
Hope you feel better soon.
Thanks but no thanks. I have been mostly ignoring this garden for months which I am going to regret in the spring. I don't mind digging though - at least you can see what you have done. I run a four bin compost system and move everything on a bin every month or so which works well. Mine don't get a huge amount of sun either. Can you shift the top soil ready to put back in? Shame to waste all that work.
Time for some lunch and then a sneaky HHC before I get on with some work. My sister is staying tonight so I need to sort the worst of the grim at least.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

You are so right. I did apologise thei morning already and will definitely do so again when I see her, Me and DH are both great believers in being nice about things, usuallygets more results than kicking off. I particularly like the bit about valuing her support, I will definitely say that. She's known for not being that geat with the parents, I thought we had clicked very well but not so sure now.
I hate that the office is manned by children at lunchtime. They just let anyone in , I think its too much responsibility for a 10 year old, how are they supposed to know if visitors are or legit or not. What is the point of a security door if children just open it willy nilly. Ranty rant.
Sorry I know its pathetic and lots of people, have much bigger issues to deal with. I hate the fact that one little blip and I'm a snivvelling wreck.Jan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)
