DD1 said we can’t go to the pub and can’t we just talk as a family? Now I’m thinking !!!!!!! I just knew it had to be something, so we sat and talked the 4 of us for over an hour when the truth came out – DD2 is pregnant. She’s only 18 and just started uni and she and boyfriend no longer together but still friends.

Aw hun i'm sure everything will be fine in the long run.I fell pregnant when i was 16 and had my first child when i was 17, so yep i'm one of stats. Its hard (i have two children now) , an uphill struggle and downright lonely. I kept both of my children and i also feel its the best thing that ever happened to me now. for my parents (one of them was my nana who had adopted me at birth) it was hard but were with me every step of the way and don't what i would have done without them.the hardest for me was actually telling my parents, i felt awful, my OH's parent not so good his father walked out, his sisters screamed at me,got called a !!!!! his mother insisted on a termination. Luckily i had my mum (nana) throughout all of mine and was they when i gave birth to a bouncing baby boy.

First of all have a cuppa take a deep breath and calm down, the more you stress the worse the situation will feel and be.
Offer her lots support and she will support you as well, its always better knowing that your mum (parent) knows as well to help share the burden.
I'm sure the university advise her to defer for the year and university nurseries are fantastic and do take children from a few months old. Or she could go part time which means less stress for her, yes her course may take longer but its fine.
Let her know that your they for her no matter what.

Sit down together and discuss options e.g moving closer to home, arrangements with the baby's father or the bad a termination, adoption(sometimes the best option). Whatever you DONT take over the decision making, its your daughters responsibility in the end as her child. If you do try and take over it will make her move away from you.

As you both become relaxed try and enjoy the pregnancy, soon you both will be looking at baby clothes, pram etc. Trust me i thought it wouldn't;t but it did my nana turned with bags of clothes and said i bought for the baby .so don't worry, stay calm, and stay positive!
Best of luck hun, pm me if you wish to chat.

sextmouse :- brilliant news on the observation! :T
greenmouse:- its terrible i always seem to buy more books, the kids are just as bad as well.

Right i think i've caught up with the thread i think.
hugs to all poorly little ones and adults.
Right going to have a cuppa then clean the kitchen, i feel looking at the floor of it.

I suggest you start packing things up and work out who you're going to move in with while they create chaos!

At work now, so I suppose I'd better do something useful...
